I’M READY FOR A CHALLENGE
WHY AM I HERE
While growing up, I had been told I was “smart,” but I never felt challenged until I to my local STEM high school.
Not only did this school help me to discover my interests in engineering due to its focus in STEM, but also this school has a reputation for being rigorous and intensive. Continuously, I was challenged throughout high school. As I began to apply to colleges, I knew I wanted to continue being challenged, and I kept catching myself thinking back to Pittsburgh. When I visited the University of Pittsburgh on a prospective student visit, our tour guide kept alluding towards the student’s ability to find the perfect balance between work and play, which is what I wanted in my future school [1].

This institute is highly regarded among the US News, ranked above schools like Boston University and Northeastern University [2]. Its program is intensive and in-depth, ensuring that all students receive an education that can be applied later in the work force. Knowing that recently, 90% of engineering students from the class of 2015 are either employed full-time or continuing their education, I feel confident that the SSOE can give me access to a job that I will excel in [3]. I am excited for the idea that Swanson will prepare me well for the future and my …show more content…
This organization is very competitive to join, as there are about three hundred people applying each semester for sixty spots [5]. I know joining the Pathfinders will be something to strive for, but this organization is something that I have always wanted to be a part of since I first visited the university. The people that were a part of this organization seemed to be true leaders of this university and had such a strong connection with each other. I knew that this group was one for me. I love talking to new people, especially about a place that I care about so passionately. I believe that Pathfinders would be excellent for me, especially since industrial engineering is a must more social type of engineering. This organization would be excellent practice for me to talk in front of large crowds and to prepare myself for the
I believe in people. It is this belief that drives my courage and confidence in a world of cynicism and doubt. I know that ultimately, humans strive for belonging and community; thus, while loneliness and anger may always be in existence, so will togetherness and bliss. In this small nation of mine, people speak at least two languages and in addition to the English language, I have experienced the beauty of the Malay traditional tales, Chinese dragons, and Indian cuisines through years of golden rich and poor multiracial friends, stories, and cultural events, ranging from the Islamic Eid Al-Fitr to the graceful moves of Bollywood dances.
According to the World Report Best Global Universities 2017, the university of Waterloo is ranked first in Canada for engineering. I believe that by pursuing a degree in Mechatronic engineering at Waterloo would not only provide me with the education required to succeed, but also enable me to obtain my goals of entering the workforce after university. Waterloo’s extensive cooperative education program would provide me with the crucial experience required in order to succeed in the workforce. Mechatronic engineers serve as a pivotal position in today’s society as currently, an abundance of products are mechanical in nature, but could not function without an integral computer controlling system. It is my ambition to one day be able to accept
Governor's School (Engineering/Technology) Response- In all learning aspects of my life, I live by the principle that the exchange of knowledge insinuates a mutual growth. As people assist each other in developing personal experiences, they both growth in the expansion of perspective. That is precisely the reason why I would like to attend the Governor’s School of Engineering and Technology.
With my experience so far, I have learnt that success is not just a product of hard skills like executive and operational excellence, but also on soft, interpersonal skills, and on Change Management. Now I use intuition and experience to steer my work. I expect the well-structured course work at Texas A & M UNIV-Kingsville to help me strengthen my skills by learning formal methodologies in the intellectually stimulating environment of my fellow students and learned professors. I feel that an MS at this stage would exponentially add to my present knowledge and experience and help me do my job effectively and achieve my long-term objective of reaching positions of excellence in future. More specifically, I really look forward to certain courses like IMEN501 Industrial Management, IMEN5300 six
This drive to challenge has influenced me my entire life. It’s the reason, despite knowing the rigorous rehearsal schedule, I joined our school’s marching band. It’s the reason I took AP Computer Science as a sophomore. It’s the reason why I entered a coding competition against seniors across the state, and ended up winning as a sophomore. It’s the reason I interned as a part of Luxottica’s development team.
Considering my desire to study engineering within the best educational environment possible, it’s not surprising I’m drawn to Georgia Tech. My interest, however, is much more than the outstanding engineering curriculum. Georgia Tech offers the best opportunity to not only learn and grow from being part of a talented, diverse and creative group of fellow students and faculty, but, in particular, to take advantage of the Co-op and Internship Programs and to study abroad. Connecting the lessons taught in the classroom to real-world, practical work experience as an undergraduate while being exposed to industry leading corporations and their leaders is a great opportunity.
I believe that being part of the vibrant academic community at ST.Cloud state University will provide me with a stimulating environment to further develop my skills and make significant contributions to the field of engineering management. In addition to my academic and professional pursuits, I am confident that my personal qualities make me well-suited for the challenges of an Engineering Management program. I am a highly adaptable and versatile individual, capable of working effectively both in teams and independently. I possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which have been honed through my experiences collaborating with diverse teams and engaging with
My why statement is something I desire in life and will accomplish with time. This three statement all have a impacted in my life, example being a leader is something I have always done when I was a younger girl,I never followed anyone choices in life I always had a mindset of my own and what I wanted to do for myself. Being a leader or just a role model in this industry is something I want to do with time. Following my dreams is a most in life, it's a goal I have to do with time no matter how many obstacles I face with time. Yes, I also want to make history be well known for the amazing impacted I have done as a role model in this industry with time, are the three why statements I will accomplish in facing many boundaries .My
chose me and that I was able to pass all His tests. God helped create my blueprint, a design that foundation will not crumble or burned, hence I am solid. I understand why the casualties had to happen. Moreover, because of my trials I am even more faithful, obedient, resilient, and compassionate towards others. Without the trials, how would one, know how to behavior and react in the times of despair.
The people I would want on my team would be to make up for what I am lacking in. Since I like to come up with ideas and organize, I would want someone that inspires people and get them motivated to do what we all agreed upon. I also want someone that is that voice that would represent out group on a much bigger scale and they are comfortable in public speaking. I also want another person similar to me so we can share our results and compare to see what needs to be improved. Also to make sure everything is set to a priority and that everything gets divided up among team members, which everything will be completed by the given deadline.
Growing up, my childhood consisted of lots of naps, juice boxes, cartoon shows, coloring, and the world of business. Yes, the world of business. It’s a pretty shocking thing to hear for someone so young to start experiencing. When I was little, I remember spending the majority of my time inside my dad’s local business in Chinatown, New York City. Although it was small and local, everyone in my family were there to help run the business.
Recent experiences have reaffirmed my ambition to lead a consulting or technology firm. I envision combining strategy and technology to assist organizations in achieving innovation, cost savings, and enhanced operational efficiencies. To proceed along this path, I need an MBA from a top technology school such as The Georgia Institute of Technology. After visiting a class, I am confident that an MBA from Georgia Tech is the best way to achieve my goals. While pursuing an MBA, I intend to accomplish three major short-term goals.
My interest in having another education abroad experience developed as a result of my realization of the many ways in which my first study abroad experience has profoundly impacted my life. Last summer I participated in the Interdisciplinary Art & Culture study abroad program to Florence, Italy, and the experience had a profound impact on me academically, professionally, and personally. Upon returning from my study abroad program and resuming my courses at my home institution this fall, I realized that my experiences abroad had prepared me for academic success. For instance, this semester in Renaissance Art History class I noticed that I was better able to recall facts about Renaissance art during exams because my experiences abroad had laid a foundation of knowledge for me to draw upon. My realization that my program has lended me an academic advantage in my classes has contributed to my interest in studying abroad again.
“The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do,” stated by the late Steve Jobs, founder of Apple computers. Typically, most people are afraid of change, but I welcome it because it has the ability to enhance everyday life. To me the thought of change is exciting and I feel the possibilities in computer technology are endless. Thinking about my current and future aspirations and my passion for computers drives me to educate others. In the past two years, I have been able to accomplish some amazing things within the industry which makes me realize I have a chance to make a difference in the world.
During the month of December 2016, I attended a Computer Science seminar at the University of Waterloo. Waterloo’s Mathematics faculty is globally recognized due to their exceptional learning experience and student success rate. However, it was only after I attended this seminar, partook in a few computer science lessons, and received a campus tour that I truly realized that this university was my ideal option. The field of computing and technology has continuously captivated my interest, thus explaining why my high school electives and activities/clubs have revolved around computing and business. I applied to Waterloo’s Computer Science & IT Management programs because computer science has become my passion and I wish to turn my passion into
