I want to become a member of a sorority at the College of Charleston because of the friendships I can form and the beneficial connections and networking within the community. Throughout my life, I have been part of communities that are tight knit and they have positively impacted my life. For example, I was a member of the Dance Depot competition team for 11 years and developed many close relationships with girls I danced with. Also, I was in an organization of mothers and daughters in the Valley Forge area, called National Charity League, for 6 years that provided girls with leadership skills and qualities and provided them cultural and philanthropic experiences. Both of these communities I have formed meaningful connections and bonds with girls that I cherish and hold close …show more content…
A leader is able to gain an audience’s attention because of their personality, morality, and how they hold themself. It is important for a leader to be organized, compassionate, able to compromise but also be firm on what they believe, and be a person who people look up to and aspire to be. I was part of an organization called National Charity League and this organization helped grow women’s confidence, public speaking skills, time management, and organizational skills. Each month, each class holds meetings to plan and discuss projects that follow the class’s focuses. This past year Class of 2023 philanthropic focus is children, cultural focus is international food, and for leadership we are focusing on self care and reflecting on the NCL experience. During my time in NCL I held board positions of Treasurer, VP of Philanthropy, Corresponding Secretary, and the Parliamentarian and committee positions of recognition chair and inspiration. All of these positions entailed a different skill that will continue to help me grow as a young female in the world and business

“People ask why I am in a sorority & I try to explain all the things a sorority is that they cannot see. A sorority is more than letters on a sweatshirt, I say. More than traditional songs, a gold pin, rituals, & obligation, or a way of life.
Outside of my sorority, I am involved in a few different things. I am a Peer Adviser, which has taught me so much about how to make the Northwestern community welcoming, as well as how to discuss difficult topics such as sexual assault and mental health. Helping students work through these sensitive issues and helping them find the resources they need all while navigating the novelty of college life has given me a wide variety of skills that I believe translate directly to sorority life. I also am highly involved in Northwestern’s dance community. I am a member of New Movement Project, a group of dance majors and minors that coordinates dance events and organization for both the dance department and Northwestern’s many dance groups.

For most sororities, you have to obtain and hold a certain GPA to ensure that everyone succeeds academically. Some may also reward their members with involvement points and prizes for semester grades. Joining a sorority becomes an outlet for academic resources in which you have a wide network of people who share your majors or have different academic interests. Studies indicate that people apart of Greek life are 20% more likely to graduate than non-Greeks. They make sure that academics always come first.
but I also believe Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has so much more to offer myself and the world. Who wouldn’t want to be apart of a sisterhood that engages in Educational Development, Economic Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement? The world we live in today needs strong educated black women to leave their mark and uplift the lives of others. The key to success for me is to put what I believe into practice. Think phenomenal things and then work hard to put them into action.
My intention is not to join this organization to step or because I like to party but, because I believe whole-heartedly in the values of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., scholarship, service, sisterhood and finer womanhood. I believe that through Zeta Phi Beta Inc. I will be able to fine tune my leadership skills, make lifelong friendships and help people on my journey as others did for me. It is my hope that this lifestyle will change my life for the better.

At Western Michigan University, there are many micro-cultures. One particular micro-culture I want to belong to is a sorority by the name of Delta Sigma Theta, incorporated. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913, 103 years ago, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to those in need. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is the largest African-American Greek-lettered organization.
I would be extremely honored to be granted the opportunity of being a part of such an amazing sisterhood. My personal values line up with those of which Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. stand for. I strongly believe that public service throughout communities will result in a positive change throughout the world. Likewise, educational development is extremely important to me because the access to education in all levels enlightens individuals and allows them to achieve their goals and amplify their accomplishments. Additionally, I believe Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will help me grow more into the person I want to become, because I venerate all the qualities of a Delta women.
I kept telling myself that it would be too much during my first semester at college, and I should just wait until I get adjusted to college life. However, one organization stuck out to me at the fair. The organization was Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a community service sorority. In high school, I enjoyed doing community service, but I only ever did it in high school because it was required. I was hesitant about attending the interest meeting for the organization because the word “sorority” formed the idea of a typical social sorority in my head, but I attended the interest meeting anyways.
Since I have always grown up being with amazing girls that I can call my family I hope to join a sorority to not only have the opportunity of having sisters by my side but to also put my time and energy into people and an organization I deeply care about. I am also interested in joining a sorority because of the service
Explain your interest in joining Phi Delta Epsilon-MA Alpha Chapter. * I want to join Phi Delta Epsilon because it would provide me the chance to build lifelong connections and gain networking opportunities. Most importantly, I see myself forming a bond with other members, studying and sharing memories of what it’s like to be a premedical student at UMass Boston. The ability to connect, strive for success and learning from others with the same goal to attend medical school is what I’m truly seeking as a hopeful applicant of PhiDE. Joining the fraternity is the beginning phase of my strenuous road to become a successful physician.
By the age of 26 I want to open up a young leader camp. This camp will open up in Winter Park Florida. The purpose of this camp is to give young kids the opportunity to learn what it takes to be a leader and how to work in a team. You have to be a team player before you can become a team leader, so the camp will be done in levels or classes. The first thing students will be required to do is read the Five Dysfunctions of Team by Patrick Lencioni.
What makes a good leader? Is it determination, gumption, or optimism? Or kindness, generosity, and spirit? When we are missing a good leader, we must consider this question if we want to have an organized society with good morals. So, ever since Angelina Jolie’s retirement, UNICEF is looking for a new goodwill ambassador.
