Imagine living on the streets and having to look for food, not knowing when your next meal was coming. What would you do? Where would you go? This is a daily existence for our clients! Being homeless is a struggle by itself. Imagine if you also had HIV. Bailey-Boushay House provides what is most of the time, our clients' only meal for the day. Your support has given our clients the strength they need to keep fighting for their lives. While we have accomplished many things to help our clients, there is still more we can do. December 1st is #GivingTuesday, a global campaign bringing people across the world together on a single day to take action in support of those in need in their communities. Hello, Again this year, the Office of Advancement will hold a photo shoot on Thursday, October 21st. We are hoping to gain access into a few of the housing units to take photos, which will be used in future publications on the housing website and other marketing materials related to UW Bothell housing. Would it be possible to schedule a two hour time slot on that day to take photos in and around the student housing units? Thank you in advance for your participation.
Veterans and our soldiers are coming home from war or getting out of the military and when they get home they can’t afford rent or they have a mental disease from war. Homeless veterans tend to experience homelessness longer than non-veteran homeless. This should not be happening to our soldiers. This is very undesirable for our troops to come home and becoming homeless. They fight for our freedom and our rights and we repay them by becoming homeless.

In South Florida, you come across countless homeless people every day. Many of them didn’t expect for this hardship to come upon them, and struggle to get back on their feet. A job that pays minimum wage can hardly compensate a household for them, not to mention the essential items they will need to sustain. Not only do homeless people struggle for success, but also someone who lives solely. This kind of individual can be living uncomfortably and miserably while barely being able to afford rent.

Now, for many countries, solving homelessness is an incessant challenge. Homelessness is more than just the absence of a permanent address. It is a condition in which a large, growing percentage of people in the United States and most likely the rest of the world find themselves. It means being cut off from relatives, social groups, and community organizations and losing a sense of belonging to society (Brown&Casey, 2014).
