1. Teach the students about raising hands to answer questions and how this practice is typical in America.
2. Discuss the reasons why we came to teach in China (an amalgamation of each teachers’ reasons)
• To share our native speaking knowledge with students who want to improve their English skills on all fronts (reading, writing, speaking, etc.)
• To learn Chinese: Peter can speak a sentence or two to demonstrate his Mandarin skills
• To travel
• To gain cultural awareness
3. Discuss the typical college experience in America: What does college mean to us in the U.S.?
• A Broadening of our knowledge/awareness of alternative viewpoints
• A means of meeting other people and improving our social skills/ability
