Nursing Career Over the last couple of days I have researched nursing. Nursing is an career that I am very interested in pursuing & making my career.Nursing is a profession within the healthcare sector focused on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. I wanted to be a nurse ever since I was little , I use to love going to the doctors and having the nurses take my temperature . They were also so nice to me and I could always see myself being either a nurse or a doctor but my heart is telling me I would rather be a nurse. The advantages would bring me so much joy , like bringing a smile to a child's face & even personal reasons like getting great benefits. I plan on going to college to get my degree and then hopefully work at the doctor's office I went to as a child. While nursing does offer many advantage shift work, often having to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of their jobs. While the benefits of choosing the nursing profession can be many, the disadvantages of the career must also be considered.es, there are disadvantages as well. Nursing is not easy, and can be very physically demanding. Long hours are often required and can sometimes be a mandatory part of work . The benefits of nursing are much more than the personal, strictly job related career benefits. We are privileged people who have the opportunity to comfort people; whether their distress is physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. As nurses, we share humanity’s most intimate moments. It may be in the form of assisting young parents to care with a child with special health needs, or participating in a bedside vigil with the family of a dying patient.
