Resilience First Aid Kit-Reflection Resilience is defined as; the ability to adapt to stressful, or difficult situations. If you are resilient, you are able to adapt to situations which trouble you without major difficulties. The task was to “Create a Resilience First-Aid Kit”. My resilience first aid kit includes items that I believe will assist someone to overcome problems, stress or hard situations that may occur throughout their time. The objects included in my first aid kit are; bath products, books, nail polish, a stress ball, earphones, a journal, a book filled with quotes/a friendship book, a movie and several tips. This is clearly seen every time someone does “therapeutic shopping” in movies and even in real life too! (This is just a much, much cheaper option! A Stress ball was included after conducting further research on the object. The research showed that stress balls do in fact work. ‘When we 're stressed out, our bodies tense up and we physically clench. Some even find that it helps them concentrate, so that’s another benefit too! Journals are another good way to keep yourself resilient. If you’ve had a bad day, you may find it helps to write down all that angered or troubled you that day. Or, you could simply even write down what has made you feel good or paste in pictures of when you were happy. There are several quotes included in this notebook that focus on resilience. For me, I myself find that quotes also help me when I feel like I want to give up. They’re inspirational and make people feel a lot better and sometimes they even make then want to pursue what they want or need and to keep going. It could make them realise that the the situation they are in right now is not the final destination and that they can change where they are. These quotes are motivational. After all the quotes, there is also a second half of this book called a “Friendship Book”. In this book, you write your thoughts, favourite quotes and compliments to your friends, or even problems/things you want to talk to them about. You pass this book from one friend to another each day; and they write what they wish. I included this because sometimes you’re too nervous to talk to a friend about what is bothering you and so instead you could write it to them so they too understand.
