There are numerous similarities and differences between the American Revolutionary War and The American Civil War. Both wars were waged in the name of unity, the Revolutionary War was to bring together the colonies of America and the Civil war was to bring together and preserve the Union. In both wars Americans did fight other Americans, in the Revolutionary War those who supported the American way fought against those who who supported the crown along side of the British. In the Civil War the North fought the South. Both wars were relatively short, both lasting less than ten years each; and the outcome of both wars was the unity of the nation. The differences both American and British leaders were apart of the Revolutionary war when the Civil …show more content…
The reason being, that a “Civil War is fought within the same country, between two political factions or regions within that country.”(Webster Dictionary) The Revolutionary War was waged upon the British by the Americans, to free themselves of unfair taxes and limitations on trade, also rejection of the need to house British Soldiers for free, along with many other duties. The war included the thirteen colonies, although that of the same land; under rule of the crown. When the 13 colonies won the war they gained independence from the British Empire, the United States was formed and they had their first president, George Washington as well as the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. The war brought upon major changes and freedom from the crown, although the Civil War brought upon change. It was solidifying the Union as one and ended slavery through out ONE nation. Another example of Civil War is that of the Nationalist and Communist of China. This is known as the Chinese Civil War. Although like the American Civil War it was fought between two regions, the outcome was not unity but two separate states. The Republic of China in Taiwan and the People's Republic of China in Mainland China, both legitimately claiming to be the government of China. The war came to a halt in 1937 to fighting against a Japanese invasion but resumed in 1946. To this day
English Civil War- This was a war that was between the royalists and parliamentarians. The royalists were people that were a pro- monarchy group, while the parliamentarians were a group of
The Revolutionary war was revolutionary, especially for the colonies. This statement was supported by how much land was available to them, and even the prices of each everyday item differed. If the colonists didn’t win the revolution, or if the revolution didn’t take place, things would have turned out differently. Along with that, they were now independent, and not following their home country, England. Other lower class colonists felt more equal to rich and upper class colonists, as shown in Document 3, where the lower class colonists were shown enjoying a game with more upper class men, and most likely richer people.
The Civil war was a war that was fought with the North and the South from 1861 throughout 1865. This war killed about 618,000 lives. Some reasons for the civil war were economic issues because the North was all about business and the South was all about farming, another reason was because of slavery because the people of the North banned slavery and the people of the South depend on it for produce. Also, because Abraham Lincoln was president at the time of the civil war era, Lincoln did not want to identify the South as being independent which started the war in 1861. Lincoln was all for the emancipation proclamation and freed the slaves.
The American CIvil War was a bloody war between men of the same country. The Southern States were fighting hard to keep their rights to slavery. This eventually led seven states to break away and become the Confederate States. This number eventually grew to eleven, and they were lead by their president, Jefferson Davis. While the remaining states,or the Union, were lead by then president Abraham Lincoln.
The Civil War was a war fought from 1861 to 1865 to determine the survival of the Union or independence for the Confederacy. The Civil War was when America broke up and went to war with each other. More than 620,000 were killed and millions were injured. The main reason it started was because of slavery. Southern states seceded from the Union because they wanted slavery, they had different economics, and they didn't want any more compromises.
There were many goals that the colonists had in waging the Revolutionary War, and an innumerable amount of those goals contributed to America’s political system. A few of their goals were to convert into a country free of a king, become independent, get rid of all loyalists, equal rights between men and women, and slaves wanted to be freed. A great deal of these goals were accomplished, although they were not very easy to carry out. “The nearer any government approaches to a republic the less business there is for a king,” (Document 1). One of the colonists’ main goals was to be free of the king of England.
The American Revolution or Revolutionary War, was a battle fought between the years of 1775-1783. In this battle, Great Britain and the original thirteen colonies of America, fought for America’s independence. From this war, America was able to separate itself from Great Britain and claim its independence, making America a free country. There were a large number of reasons as to why the Revolutionary War began. First, the British were still in control of the thirteen North American colonies.
These two opposing viewpoints are the main cause of the American Revolution because of their different desires. Events within the time period between 1763 and 1775 illustrate this perfectly. The radical view was most commonly accepted by the colonist community and fueled to fight for independence from England as shown by their reactions to laws imposed on them as well as documents blatantly stating how they really felt. An example of radical retaliation would be how
Although the Civil War and American Revolution shared many similarities, the Civil War differed in the fact that it was more of a confrontation of two opposing
The American and French revolutions are similar in some ways but different in others. Both of the revolutions were liberating, but the French revolution was more violent and bloodier than the American. As to the American revolution was more conservative and federal. The American revolution is similar to the French except the American was more limited meaning that they had to be more conservative.
The American and French Revolution are both remembered in history as two major changes that would shape what we know today. Every child learns of the American Revolution at least once in their lives. Both these revolutions had the similar cause, effects, and stages that resulted or started them. Just like in every warring country, it is inevitable that there will be some change that occurs whether it be for the better or for worse. Although the American and French revolutions were very similar in the actions, there were many differences leading them into ultimately different paths and states of rest.
Texas would fight to get just about anything their way. The Civil War was fought between the North and the South, Confederate and the Union, and was fought over to secede or not. This is also known as the bloody war. The Civil War lasted from 1861-1865. Six Southern states had seceded before Texas did in Mid-Late 1800s in all, the confederacy was made of 11 states total.
Normally, in a revolution, a government is overthrown and replaced by another type of government. An example of a revolution is the American Revolution, in which the British monarchy got rejected by the colonists in the Thirteen Colonies. From the rejection, it resulted in a war in which the Thirteen Colonies uprised against the British. Both argued over a disagreement about the way the colonies wanted to be treated versus the way Great Britain treated the colonies. Ultimately, the idea of equality among the people and government became a major concern.
When it comes to the outcomes of each it seems as if the French Revolution created more change than the English Civil War did. Although they did have similarities and differences; it seems as if their results differ more than they compare. They both seem to have common results but the results are definitely different when it comes to how it affected their countries. Three of their major results
The results of them were distinct that the American revolution eventually extricated America prom the led the American society into a republic. Those colonial leaders who were influenced by the Enlightenment were unsatisfied with the monarchical government. Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson argued for the rights of the colonists and doubted the right of imposing on the colonists. After the fight against the British, the colonist leader had drafted Declaration of Independence, which suggested liberty of completely subverted the British domination and suggested the common liberality among all the citizens of America, and had led America to a republic. There were no major political conflicts in America in tens of years after that.
