In The Lightning Thief , by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson and his friends are in grave danger. In this fantasy novel, Riordan takes you through a story of a 6th grade “Troubled kid,” and his life as a half-blood. Half bloods are demi-gods that are created from a god and a human. Percy is stuck wondering why him? Why does he have to be a half-blood? Why is Percy a demi-god? Percy wants to know as soon as he can as to why he is a half blood, and what type of half blood is he ...“You’re undetermined” Pg 85. After Percy finds out who he truly is, he goes to find and return zeus's stolen property, and bring peace to a fighting olympus. But there is a catch, he only has ten days to complete the quest. “That's June, 24th, ten days from now” pg 137.
Percy is also brave, smart, and courageous, but he is also strong and caring. Percy’s main objective in the story is to get out of the underworld and stop a Roman vs Greek battle. Percy Jackson is a dyslexic boy who gets in lots of trouble. He is an only child living in upstate New York raised by his and has ADHD. That’s not all now that Percy finds out he is a half-blood he is in danger, because he is accused of stealing Zeus Master bolt. Now Percy must go on a quest to return the bolt to Zeus, but on the way he will fail to save what matters the most.
I am reading the book Percy Jackson The Lighting Thief by Rick Riordan. It is a fantasy book with 375 pages. So far, our main characters are Percy Jackson, Sally Jackson, Chiron, also known as Mr. Brunner, Annabeth Chase, and Grover. To start off, Percy Jackson is a troubled 12 year old with ADHD and dyslexia. He is attending a boarding school called Yancy Academy.
The book, The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan, is a very good book. It is about how a kid named Percy, who is a child of the Ancient Greek god, Poseidon, who has to go on a quest to find Zeus’s Lightning bolt before Zeus starts a war against the gods. Zeus believes that Poseidon took the lighting bolt to try to take over his throne. Something I learned today was that Ares, The god of war, and Luke, a son of Hermes, were trying to start the war in the first place. Luke stole the bolt from Zeus when he and Camp Halfblood went to Mount Olympus.

The main character in the book is Percy Jackson, he is a kid that gets sent to Yancy Academy a school for bad kids. He lived a normal life but little did he know he was the son of a god.
Percy 's birth into his Hero Cycle occurs when he crosses into Camp Half Blood for the very first time. His subsequent call to adventure is when he consults with the Oracle. During his visit to the Oracle, Percy learns what he must do in order to be successful on his quest. Chiron, also known as Mr. Brunner, assists Percy in his initial preparation for his quest. He makes sure Percy, Annabeth, and Grover all have the things they need in order to be somewhat prepared for what lay ahead for them.
Percy Jackson has had ADHD and dyslexia all his life and been kicked out of countless schools-accept this time it’s not his fault. An evil math teach transform into a furry and attacks him, he kills it with a pen( that transform into a sword) that his teacher gives to him. He goes home to his mom and abusive stepdad, he goes on vacation and his car is attack and his mom tells him he not normal-he’s a demigod half mortal half god and there is a safe haven called camp half-blood and monsters can smell him because his god side. The monster kidnaps his mom and in revenge he kills the monster right by the camp.

It was on this day Percy encounters multiple strange events which leads him to the discovery that he is a half-blood: half-human, half-god. After this discovery, Percy is taken to Camp Half-Blood, a camp for kids who are also half Greek god. Soon after arriving at camp, Percy learns he is son of Poseidon, god of the sea and brother to Hades and Zeus. He also learns that Poseidon and Zeus are in a bit of a disagreement at the moment, as Zeus is accusing Poseidon of stealing his lightning bolt.
"The Sea of Monsters" by Rick Riordan is the second book in the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" arrangement. In this book, Percy Jackson goes up against a mission to spare his dearest Camp Half Blood. Percy Jackson is seen nearing the finish of his seventh grade year and even though amped up for being finished with the school, and going to Camp Half Blood for the late spring, Percy is worried about a nightmare dream he has had in regards to his companion Grover. Percy doesn't know what the fantasy has implied but rather at last chooses he needs to concentrate on school. At the point when Percy touches base at school he and his companion, Tyson, are tormented by a gathering of new young men that have arrived.
Percy then heads to Camp Half-Blood where he is told about the Labyrinth. The maze was designed by Daedalus and according to Greek mythology, is part of King Minos' palace in Crete. The hero figure in Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is Percy himself. Percy is a twelve year old boy that lives in Mattanah, New York. He lives with just his mom, Sally, and step dad Gabe in an old apartment, and Percy has never met his biological father.
However, he is blessed to have these conditions. His ADHD and ADD help him stay hyperactive in wherever he is. This book was based on Greek Mythology, and there were many wars at that time. Percy is falsely accused for stealing a lightning bolt, and wants to prove that he didn't. Percy Jackson is persevere in many ways.
There was a time when he was very confused on what he was capable of doing. For example, in chapter 1 page 9 the text states, “I don’t remember touching her but the next thing I knew, Nancy was sitting on her butt in the fountain screaming,”Percy pushed me!” ” It seems that Percy’s powers responded to his actions as he somehow pushed Nancy Bobofit into the water. Another example is when Percy made made it to camp half blood (chapter 5, Riordan) , Percy was being spoon fed Ambrosia nectar which what percy said tastes like,”It was chocolate chip cookies.
Throughout “The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan, the main character Percy Jackson grows in many ways. Through application of Joseph Campbell’s Hero Cycle, Percy’s development as a leader over the course of “The Lightning Thief” can be analyzed (Campbell). Percy is born into the hero’s cycle at his natural birth and his call to adventure is the attack by Mrs. Dodds. Percy crosses the threshold, when he leaves Montauk with his mother and Grover and the first trial testing his leadership is on the bus with the furies. Trials exemplifying Percy’s growth include: the furies, Medusa, the Saint Louis Arch, the “Waterland” Waterpark, the Lotus Hotel, Crusty’s Waterbed Palace, and Hades and the Underworld.
