The importance of Science and Tech in the 1940s

Many amazing things were made in the 1940s including, Nuclear fission, microwaves, the test dummy, and many other things that help shape the world. Nuclear fission was one of the biggest scientific breakthroughs in the 1940s. Many technological advancements were also made, including the crash test dummy, the discovery of microwaves which lead up to the creation of the microwave, the computer, jet engine, and kitty litter. With all of these advancements the world was shaped into what it is known as today. Nuclear weapons changed the way that other powers in World War Two saw the people holding nuclear bombs. The impact of nuclear fission on World War Two cannot be overstated. It was a game changer that forever changed the way that nations interacted with each other. The development and use of nuclear weapons significantly altered the power dynamics of the war, allowing for a more equitable and peaceful resolution to the conflict. Nuclear fission created a situation in which none of the major powers were able to gain total control over other countries because of the threats of nuclear bombs. When either side were making new vehicles, especially planes, they needed to see how much armor plating they would need to put onto the vehicle so they could make it safe for the person. If it was not safe for the person and if they were to crash they would not be able to get out alive like normal planes, tanks, and automobiles. This invention is used today by mainly car producing companies that see how well the airbags work in the car.
