This movie is a great example of how leadership roles collaborate in the pursuit of a common goal. The common goal in this case is to lead the tropic to the NBA by promotions and team structure. Jackie is the owner, player, and coach of the Flint Tropics basketball team. This leader is most successful in developing community support and interpersonal relationships. However, team members decided on Monix to coach the team, since he knows the game better than Jackie. Jackie was practicing entertainment, not basketball. The team's’ hopes were to start playing some real basketball. Jackie had completely turned to promotion, these great promotional ideas brought 2,000 fans every home game. The forms of simulation include use of visualization, mental rehearsal or practice. Imagery should involve as many senses as possible. The kinesthetic sense improves the athlete's sense of their body in motion. In the movie “Semi-Pro,” Jackie Moon mentioned his finely tuned ability for his underarm free-throw courtesy of going through the motions of the free-throw. He leaves a lot of room for improving as he misses his free-throw an important game. Next is the visual sense in which an athlete pictures themselves doing an action in their particular sport. Jackie Moon certainly used this tool to visualize himself jumping off a ramp over the Tropic’s cheerleaders on roller skates, which he almost made. The use of auditory sense helps with hearing the sounds an athlete would encounter during an event. Tactile sense takes in account of the feeling of the sporting equipment, which could include; a basketball, baseball bat, etc. There is even the use of olfactory senses in some sports. The smell of a freshly mowed field can heighten awareness of any soccer or baseball player. Besides the use of senses athletes will attach emotional states to their imagined experiences. This skill can help control emotional states during competition. In Semi-Pro, Jackie Moon would benefit in this practice, he shows no control over his emotions. This causes him a lot of problems in and out of the game. So much so the team asks him to allow Monix to coach
