Having exotic animals in the wild is very bad. The animals will mess up other homes for the other animals, kill other animals, and destroy the food for the other creatures. Destroying wildlife is a horrible thing the snakes killing the mice, the alligators eating the fish in the lake, and the lion eating the zebras. Exotic animals destroy our wildlife by messing up the trees, our ground, and the lakes and ponds. Our wildlife is going terrible with the exotic animals destroying where other animals live and eat. Keeping the animals in public and unsafe for the wildlife and other people.

Some exotic pets you can train them to be house trained and not dangerous. Some pets like monkeys, their bites and scratches are full of infections and nasty germs, and can break skin. Animals like turtles and snakes caring salmonella. Exotic animals should not be known as some pets because most of them have characteristic made for wildlife not in a household. Keeping these animals in your house is dangerous and threatens others human health. These animals need more than just a back yard and a cage, they need different foods to survive and to be free in the
Exotic animals should not be pet’s, well unless you have a death wish that is. Even if you have a death wish, which you shouldn’t, you still should not own exotic animals as a pets. Exotic animals carry diseases. “According to the central disease control, exotic pets can pass on and infect humans with a variety of diseases including the Herpes B virus, Rabies, Salmonella, Ebola, Monkeypox.”
Many people use dogs or cats as their emotional support animal, but there are some that would consider their exotic pets an emotional support animal as well. Exotic pets should not be considered emotional support animals because they can be potentially harmful to the owner and the people around them and are not usually a domesticated animal. Many people enjoy owning pets that could be considered exotic. They feel that it shows wealth and power. Some people even go so far as to consider this
Exotic animals are animals that stay wild, do not have resources that are easily accessible, and can be dangerous which means that humans should not be allowed to keep them as pets. If exotic animals stay wild then they should not be allowed as a pet. In the text piece entitled “Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger” by Mia Lewis it states “Exotic animals are something else. They are wild animals with wild animal instincts, even when born in captivity”.
People should not be allowed to keep exotic animals as pets because of cost and safety. Cost is one of the main problems of owning exotic animals. The cost is sometimes thousands just for the animal. That expensive costs do not include things like food, habitat costs, and vet trips, which all are very expensive also. Safety is another main concern of having exoic pets.
Are You Safe? People shouldn’t be able to keep exotic animals as pets. Exotic animals are wild and dangerous. It doesn’t matter if they were well taught as babies, because of their natural behavior they will still attack. It’s a big responsibility to take care of an exotic animal
The quote states “In the last 10-16 years, 1.5 people on average gets killed yearly by captive reptile, 1 by captive cat, 0.81 by captive elephant, 0.125 by captive bear and 0 by captive nonhuman primate,” reports Zuzana Kuhol, a REXANO o-founder “As a comparison, 45,000 people died each year in traffic accidents, 47 from lightning and 1,600 by falling down stairs” (REXANO). However, even though it is rare, it still happens and you can’t predict when it will attack. The quote claims “Exotic animals are wild animals with wild animal instincts, even when born in captivity. A wild animal is never 100 percent predictable.
Zoos have always been something that families love and kids look forward to going to. Kids learn about the animals and the habitats and enjoy the entertainment. It is a great experience for people, but not for the animals. Zoos are downright cruel to Animals. Animals our forced to live in an unreal stressful, and boring conditions.
In particular, animals need to be in their natural environment in order to survive. “In the absence of that, they are permanently stressed to the point where their immune systems are compromised, and they have no defense against the kind of infections that are common to orcas who spend their lives in concrete tanks” (Marino 1). Animals in a human environment can be an endangerment since they are supposed to be adapted to their environment. “Even at the very best of human care and medicine cannot fill the void since, if they are to thrive orcas need ‘orca care’ in an orca environment, not a human one” (Marino 2). Animals used for breeding can be dangerous and result in serious disorders.
They are wild predators and threatening to some. But we should also understand why some opt to adopt them despite understanding its dangers. By implementing a law, we can make sure owners are responsible for it and thus provide adequate care for their own pets. We can make sure neighbors feel comfortable and accept these “special” friends. Last but not the least, we can make sure the animal is safe and free from suffocating cages and insufficient food.
Exotic animals should not be treated as pets because they are not completely tamable, they belong to their natural habitat, and they may be transmitting zoonotic diseases to those around them. In contrast, some people believe that exotic animals should be kept as pets to save them from extinction.
Exotic animals have rights too when it comes to how they live. We have options when it comes to what domesticated animal we want and the animals we usually choose from are already domesticated. So, dogs, cats, and maybe even hamsters are domesticated which means that they are according to the National Geographic website “animals that have been selectively bred and genetically adapted over generations to live alongside humans.” Exotic animals have not been domesticated so, we should not treat them like they have been. Utilitarianism is an ethical theory that discusses the moral rights of animals and it is the theory I am using to discuss my topic about animals.
Maintaining an environment suitable for an animal from a different ecosystem is extremely time consuming and expensive. Modern day homes are not equipped with backyard jungles for Bengal tigers, or large amounts of spaces with objects for chimpanzees to climb on. It is nearly impossible for exotic pet owners to imitate the natural homes of these animals, which is what they require to ensure the animal lives a comfortable life. What most fail to realize is that these animals will not be able to adapt from a South American jungle, or African plain to a caged in backyard with a completely foreign ecosystem and lifestyle than these animals are meant to belong in. Finding veterinary care for exotic animals is a difficult task, let alone being able to meet the dietary needs of large, carnivorous animals or massive mammals.
This proves wild animals, despite being wondrous and beautiful, can be dangerous in captivity. (Estrada). Lastly, the price it takes to
Some people believe exotic animals are not as dangerous as the media made them out to be. This argument is shown by a statement said by Andrew Wyatt, “No uninvolved public has ever been killed in the USA since 1990 as a result of a captive big cat, primate, bear, elephant or reptile at large” (Rexano 106). This may be true, but this argument fails to talk about the dangerous diseases exotic animals can give to their owners. “...exotic pets may carry zoonoses that have not previously been identified in that particular geographic area19; numerous outbreaks of zoonoses have been associated with the legal and illegal importation of animals in the pet trade.” (Souza).
Another example in this article Kids Stand Up for Animals in Captivity from PETA Kids is when the enclosures or cages get too expensive ,so they take some of the toys away, branches, and food. In a couple months they have nothing but concrete and bars while people stare at them. This shows that maybe it makes the animals sad or get so stressed out they sometimes hit the bars, glass, and even the concrete. Lastly they get taken away from their cages and zoo friends into a new zoo. It like moving to a new house, but without saying goodbye.
