How did Christianity originate? A Jew named Jesus of Nazareth, lived in Palestine and conveyed a simple message to other Jews that would eventually spread and evolve into Christianity. His goal was not to change or destroy the Jews’ traditional religion, but to tell them that it was more important for each individual to change themselves, rather than to strictly obey the law. He told them that people should love each other, as well as God. Jesus upheld the characteristics of modesty and love for others. However, the Roman forces in Palestine believed that Jesus’s ideas could cause a Jewish revolt, so they crucified him. After Jesus’s death, some of his followers spread the message that Jesus was resurrected and had passed on to heaven. Jesus
