"The Founding Father Who Winks At Us" " But Ben Franklin, that ambitious urban entrepreneur, seems made of flesh rather than of marble, addressable by nickname, and he turns to us from history's stage with eyes that twinkle from behind those newfangled spectacles. He speaks to us, through his letters and hoaxes and autobiography, not with orotund rhetoric but with a chattiness and clever irony that is very contemporary, sometimes unnervingly so. We see his reflection in our own time." This evidence explains Franklin's Kind side. It says in the paragraph "seems made of flesh rather than of marble, addressable by nickname, and he turns to us from history's stage with eyes that twinkle from behind those newfangled spectacles." He doesn't want the people to think he is of higher power and that he will ignore them if someone tried to talk to him. His first side I wrote about was his kind side. Benjamin Franklin uses his kind side a lot when writing and debating things for the government, decision making, normal conversations, etc. One example of his kind side is in "The Founding Father who Winks At Us" It says in the writing "But Ben Franklin, that ambitious urban entrepreneur, seems made of flesh rather than of marble" (The Founding Father who Winks At Us, Paragraph 1) This is an example of other people knowing that he is more kind then any other politic. The other side I have written about is his witty side. Franklin uses his witty side a lot in trying to persuade people, his writings, joking, etc. One example of his witty side is in "Franklin’s Conversational Style"It says in the writing "Franklin went on to catalog the most common conversational sins “which cause dislike,” the greatest being “talking overmuch … which never fails to excite resentment.” The only thing amusing about such people, he joked, was watching two of them meet" (Franklin’s Conversational Style, Paragraph 2) This is an example of his witty-ness in his writings. These two writings compare because he uses both of them in almost everything he does. One example of a writing that includes both of his sides is "Franklin Get's in Character." This writing has both his witty and kind side because in the writing it says "Franklin was well aware of, and amused by, the image
Much of Franklin's retirement was gentlemanly. Wood demonstrates this when explaining Franklin's electrical experiments, public service, and his politics. "By the early 1760s Franklin had become a thoroughgoing imperialist and royalist," Wood concludes (91). Though Franklin admired the British king greatly and reveled in how great the British Empire was. It was around the late 1750s and 1768 in particular that Franklin began struggling for royal government in Pennsylvania, a proprietary colony, that Wood believes Franklin began identifying himself as an Englishman.
Benjamin Franklin, is known as one of the founding fathers who drafted the Declaration Of Independence and the constitution of the United States. Among other titles, he is recognized as a diplomat, scientist, inventor, and a writer who decided to write an autobiography on himself. He wrote his Autobiography for his son and generally talked about what he had to go through to end up happy as he did, before he died. His autobiography was basically a shared memory, through writing, on a permanent document that can last longer, in contrast to his body. Although Benjamin Franklin did not finish his autobiography what he had written so far influenced us as his readers to see him as a well rounded person because he is independent, determined, and inspirational.
In Benjamin Franklin’s speech, he uses some phrases that are able to support his opinion on the faults of the constitution. He is willing to change his opinions for the benefit of our people. Ben Franklin believes that opinions are changed over time because even his opinions were changed as he matured and took the opinions of others into consideration. He stated that “- to change opinions even on the important subjects, which I once thought were right, but found to be otherwise.” It is crucial that people not only consider their opinions when making a decision, but also the views of others.
He related the story of a smith working on an axe and a customer decided that "a speckled axe is best" because good men should allow a few faults in himself for the sake of others. Benjamin Franklin claimed that he never completed his quest for moral perfection, but he did became happy. Benjamin Franklin is known to be an “Archetypal American,” because of his beliefs on religion, self-improvement, hard work, and determination; but also his somewhat prideful spirit. Much of modern America is quite similar to Franklin in his actions throughout his lifetime. Soon into his education, he found an interest in reading and writing, so he began pursuing a career in printing.
“Words can inspire, and words can destroy. Choose yours well.” - Robin Sharma. In 1787, a convention was held to determine the efficiency of a debatable Constitution discussed by the delegates. Benjamin Franklin, having represented Pennsylvania, then presented a speech regarding his position on the topic, declaring his agreement to it in spite of his uncertainty on whether or not it will result in negative consequences in the future.
Altogether Twain thought Franklin was a dimwitted, ignoramus fruitcake that walked around “flying his kite and fooling away his time in all sorts of such ways, when he ought have been foraging for soap-fat, or constructing candles.” (“Late Benjamin” 140). Twain does have legitimacy with his critique, although he may have been a little rude presenting his points, it was still a valid argument. Franklin does get more credit than he deserves, but unlike Twain, I don 't think we should forget that he ever
He talks about things from the “establishment, that which [he] first formed, called the Union Fire Company” (Franklin 82) which was a big deal back then to inventing a new fireplace. He writes about his good deeds because Franklin wants to show what good Americans can do. His son would probably not have care as much, but the general public would care how Americans can prosper. Part three is all about how he prospered, how he lived the ‘American Dream’ Some believe that Benjamin Franklin wrote about his good deeds because he wanted to show Great Britain how great America was. He wanted to show that they could grow and prosper, that the Americans do not need Great Britain to survive, that they are fine by themselves, maybe ever

The informations that Franklin presents is to show his reputation that he is not perfect, also his constitution but he is open minded and willing to make what is best for the people.
