I wish to apply for the position of a Supportive Roommate at your reputable organization-Community Living Alternative Services (CLAS). I am a caring and mature professional and an experienced disability support worker for nine years. I have a passion for improving the quality of life of people with developmental disabilities. I have worked with people of different ages and disabilities in different support work settings- group homes, community access services, job and career coaching, as well as life skill coaching. As we are daily seeking opportunities to support people with Developmental Disabilities, My wife who has also worked in this field has recently graduated from the Bow valley College practical nursing program. Because of our plans to make a difference in the lives of people living with developmental disabilities, my wife decided to do one of her practicum at the mental health unit at Rockyview Hospital. All these experiences put together, will no doubt serve as added advantages to my scope of support for my potential clients. I am a very patient person with great empathy and a genuine desire to help. I have a current First Aid Certificate, CPI certificate, Medication Administration certificate and some other certificates that a support worker supposed to have.
