Have you ever wondered what courage is or how it’s shown. Courage is shown in many ways and actions. It is also shown by all people no matter if they are weak or strong or poor and rich. So courage can be shown in a lot of ways and by a lot of people. Courage is an amazing thing to have and when you show it you feel stronger. These people all showed courage and now are all stronger as people and recognized through history. The first person to show courage was Malala Yousafazi when she stood up to the taliban. She stood up to a very powerful terrorist group who killed and terrorized Pakistan. The taliban did not want girls to go to school at all, and Malala believe girls should go to school. “Determined to go to school with a firm belief in her right to an education, Malala stood up to the Taliban.”(Malala Yousafazi Biographical). In this time segregation between blacks and whites was very popular. So when a black woman refused to give up her seat for a white person people are gonna get angry. Rosa showed courage because she knew she would be ridiculed and probably arrested for this action. She stood up for her rights as a person even though she knew she would be arrested and get in trouble. When she got arrested there was a possibility of her being beat in jail because she was black. She showed even more courage by just accepting this fact and still standing up for what she believed in. It takes a lot to stand up for something when you could get harmed. “For openly challenging the racial law of her city, she remained at great physical risk while being held by the police, and her family was terrified for her.”(Bredhoff, Wynell, Lee pg 34).
