74% of people in Syria where Sunni Muslims.The other 12% was made of shia Muslim.
Syria has been babied of civilization for the last 10,000 years.For many centuries, Syria was part of the Ottoman Empire which finally collapsed in 1918.That when French took over control.
Syria was know to be a Democratic Republic In short it means that Syria was runned by electing a person to represent the people.Of course this didn't go too well as Al-Shishani made all political parties vanish in 1952.Before the war broke out people said that life was good there wasn't any main problems in their daily life.Some say that you couldn't talk about the law in a bad way or they would get you.
