From an early age, I have been fascinated by the workings of life; the human body is a remarkable machine with many diverse systems producing an organism that can never be artificially reproduced. My decision to study a course that provides care and love to patients originated from my ambition to pursue a career that combined my enthusiasm for sciences, particularly Biology and Chemistry, with my love of working with people. My interest in helping individuals was sparked during my work placement at a local Optician. During my time here, I have developed many skills suiting the optical environment and the experience has helped further my understanding of this field. I began by shadowing my experienced colleagues in a range of services such as dispensing suitable spectacles for each patient. I did have first aid training and also dealt with situations where I had to be depended on for treating those students when needed. I believe I was quick and calm which is significantly efficient as a role of any lifetime career, as panicking would only make the situation worse. Not only does this give me the experience of handling patients with care, it also gave me a feeling of satisfaction when parents of the children were delighted to hear that there was someone out there, helping their child and trusted upon.
