What has technology done to society
Technology is always a thought of good think but it's not imperative or necessary. Reading and thinking is so important in culture, books are a powerful source of knowledge. Getting rid of books is destroying culture. Bradbury tells the audience that an anti-utopia which people are so tied up in technology because they refuse to think and learn. But a small group of people are determined to remember books and learn from them, to show how much knowledge you can gain.
Technology shows the unhappiness for the society, causing depression and suicide. They are blinded in technology, and don’t realize it can be a dangerous thing. In the novel, some characters attempt suicide including Montag’s spouse, Mildred, who

To burn them down just because they have books. Beatty, Montag’s boss and also the Fire chief, tells Montag, “Montag, a funny thing. Heard tell me this morning. Fireman in Seattle purposely set a Hound to his own chemical complex and let it loose” (31). The depression and the lack of will to live is rampant throughout the entire society, even the Firemen commit suicide by the very thing that is supposed to help them, and Technologically Advanced Hound. They want everyone to be equal so if you get caught with a book they are dead. This makes it so depressing too. Another major problem among the young society is murder of their peers for entertainment. Clarisse McClellan, Montag’s neighbor, tells Montag about her classmates and how they “head for a Fun Park to bully people around, break windowpanes in the Window Smasher or wreck cars in the Car Wrecker place. Or go out in cars and race on the streets playing chicken and knock hubcaps” (30). It is complete kayos. In the society, the teenagers’ personalities are psychopathic and dangerous. They bully other people and destroy objects for entertainment they think it is fun. Society in Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 does not care
F451 Have you ever thought about what the world would be like without books? Fahrenheit 451 is a book about a world where books are not allowed. Fahrenheit 451 is very similar to the real world in many ways such as drug overdose, technology obsessed, and finally constant War/Atomic War. The novel and the research in the real world both talk about the risk of death because of a drug overdose.
Montag asked his boss, Captain Beatty, about books and why books are illegal in society. When Montag asked, Captain Beatty’s response was that books remove happiness and order in society; Montag on the other hand thinks the differ. He questioned himself, that if books were so bad then why would an old lady want to kill her self with her books so she doesn’t live without them. Montag’s questioning caused a lot of tension in his life. His wife had alarmed the fire station of the books Montag has and left Montag before the fire department burnt the home, Montag was going to get arrested, and in the eyes of everyone he was this rebellious criminal.
The habitual use of technology was the lifestyle norm in Ray Bradbury’s novel and embodies a strong resemblance to today’s society. Rather than using media as an entertainment source, citizens in Montag's society uncontrollably abuse it and have let it consume their lives. The ability to socialize has been replaced by mindless and unprincipled behavior as portrayed by those addicted to technology. Citizens who have chosen a life without technology, display characteristics of a more purposeful and humane life. Ray Bradbury, the author of the Fahrenheit 451, provides a clear message about technology’s dangers and demonstrates how those who are cured from it live a more meaningful life.
Bradbury does a nice job of predicting what the world would be like in the future. The society that he describes is, in many ways, like the one we living in now because of our overuse of technology and how we don't question things like authority or why we learn what we learn in school. Although the book and current day life are weirdly similar there are differences like the obvious fact that we don't burn books and firemen put out fires instead of start them. First, Today's society is similar to Fahrenheit 451 because of the use of our technology and how disconnected people are from the real world and others.
People say that society will not stand for the existence of literature and that they will punish and ostracize those that do not listen. However, when people say that they will punish those who deviate from the standard, they often mean that they themselves will do the punishing. For example, quickly after Montag recognizes the value of books, Mildred turns him in and Beatty immediately embodies society’s ideals to a violent extreme. Amongst the various things Montag has witnessed throughout the entirety of the book, the result of this extreme compliance to societal standards may be the greatest motivation for his
Life is what Bradbury warned. Modern technology has discouraged people from nurturing interpersonal relationships and reading. We live in a world that Bradbury feared. Just like the society in his novel, today's society is obsessed with buying a multitude of newer technology.
Montag wants her to read because her accidental suicide attempt almost worked. There are so many things happening in their world because no one asks why. No one questions anything. They know there is a war going on but no one can tell them why it started. Montag thinks books would get them “half out of the cave” meaning closer to the light.
In the book Fahrenheit 451 the author Ray Bradbury states that he believes what he writes about in the book will start to happen in the future. I believe there are similarities and that the book is close to being similar to todays society is. that would involve being technology obsessed and letting that interfere with everyday life, Seeing false information and having it cause panic or be meant to disrupt how you think, and Being depressed has become more common over the decades. Reffering back to the book there are many cases where technology has gotten in the way of relationships or moments where communication isnt there. Montag wanted to get Mildred to go look for Clariss and she was so focused on the television she didn't get up.
A massive amount of people use a lot technology a lot in our daily lives. Technology like smartphones, computers, and tv's are examples of entertainment while space shuttles, nano filtration, 3D printing are examples that helps the society grow. Their are positives and negatives of technology and people are just starting to question if these complicated yet convenient technology will give a future that we all desire or a future that is miserable. Science Fiction books like Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury inform a lot of readers an idea of what may happen in the near future. This book in particular does support the negative side, but there are a lot of positive points scattered around the book.
The Discovery Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel from the perspective of a firefighter named Guy Montag. In this novel, books are being burned for the way that they inspire people to think and have their own opinions. A series of events lead Guy Montag, a firefighter that is in charge of burning books, to discovering that his society is cruel and twisted. The first event that causes Montag to question his society is his wife’s suicide attempt. When the men that operate the machines treat his wife Mildred, it seems impersonal to Guy Montag.
How Technology Leads to Sadness “Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master.” This quote by Christian Lous Lange symbolically shows the relationship between humans and technology and how it can affect people in a good or bad way. Technology can is a great tool for society that provides a service. However, technology can also draw people to it and make it hard for them to turn away.
Would anyone want to live a life with a very controlled society? Where the society is not allowed to read books and is punished for doing so. Where the books are burned at 451 degrees Fahrenheit, which is the temperature at which paper burns. Ray Bradbury makes a wider point about the dangers that a divided society can present. It is clear from the novel that books are seen to be the source of all unhappiness and should be prohibited.
Books in this society are deemed to be controversial and useless. Montag is one of the few people in the book that realizes that their way of living was isolating them from bigger matters. Even though society
