Prompt One: What is your intended major? Apparently pursuing something you have a passion for in college is key, because you’ll never be bored and think everything is a waste of time. So, that is what I am going to do. I want pursue in an art major, specified in drawing. With art as my major, I am capable of drawing as much as I want and I am able to explore my creative bounds. My passion for drawing once started in middle school. We got assigned seats in our pre-algebra class and I got assigned to sit next to one of my still ongoing best friend. I started doodling a little mushroom that she had on her little pencil pouch. And from there on out, Ii just kept on going and each doodle progressed to an actual drawing. Which I do from time to time. Then during highschool, I was in an internship at Taft elementary school. One of the tasks that my team had …show more content…
The rollercoaster was made for a science project in middle school. The reason why the rollercoaster was an accomplishment for me wasn’t just because how cutenice it looked, but that the rollercoaster actually worked. The rollercoaster was shaped as an alligator and and had different shades of green popsicle sticks for its whole structure. My other accomplishment that I’veive made was my small mural Ii did in highschool. The mural was a spectrum of the light and darkness that's in one's self. By displaying the good in one side of the spectrum I made it in a very florescent forest with an abundance of flora, fauna, and adorable mythical creatures. While the darkside was the complete opposite from the lightside of the range, it did have only one similarity of having mythical creatures. But, the darkside had mythical creatures like ghouls, imps, succubus, and more. The darkside used mythical creatures, gore, and gloomy color schemes to portray a fearful feeling, so the audience would understand what's
In the “out-of-dated time”, the expectations of achieving our goals were through hard work. In reality, it is much more than that. To acquire our desired dream, we must recognize that the key is perseverance, dedication and hard work. For instance, based on the movie Rudy, we are introduced to your not-so-average football player, a fellow who is not built, tall or fast. On the contrary, Rudy is shorter, scrawnier, but is one of the most work working, kind hearted fellow that you would ever meet that will not take no as an answer.
Terrorist organizations all start from an individual or group of people sharing a vision of something they wish to see done within their country or in the world. The terrorist organization al-Qaeda started when a man name Osama bin Laden wanted to start something to better the lives of the Muslim community in the middle east. Osama bin Laden was a freedom fighter and helped the fight against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. After the Afghans fought off the attack bin Laden went on to start-up his Jihad organization al-Qaeda. This helped fuel the radical Islamic followers to continue their violent crusade in the middle east and to help push their agendas.
My first theme is how Tupac made it big and became a successful artist. How he did that was in 1988 just two years after he moved to Baltimore, Maryland. Tupac and his family moved to Marin City, California just a short drive north of San Francisco. When he attended Tamalpais High School Shakur was heavily involved in the school's drama department. Later the next year in 1989 Shakur began going to Poetry classes taught by Leila Steinberg.
Tyler is a typical high school student with some challenges. He has cerebral palsy, non-verbal learning disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and anxieties. Some ways in which Tyler's disabilities affected his learning was when his teachers had to work with him to accommodate him in the classroom. For example, "they enlarged handouts, revised assignments, adapted testing, and seated him appropriately so he can see better. His aid and teachers had to find special ways to help him succeed in school.
I am working with three programs: Programing corps, Reading corps, and Learning with Legos. I got a lot of volunteer hours at the library and had fun doing it. I loved learning with Legos the most because I got to be the leader and the kids were very fun to hang out with. That program was for elementary kids and I worked with them to build their creations and there was a theme each week. An example of a theme is super heroes, or a favorite book

Growing up in Gary, Indiana, Michael Jackson was born into a music oriented family that sang, danced, and played instruments. Michael once said that one of his biggest dreams was to become a singer and at the tender age of six his dream came true when he joined his four brothers in forming the group The Jackson 5. It wasn’t long before the Jackson 5 was one of the most popular American groups who saw much success with hits such as “I Want You Back”, “ABC”, and “I’ll Be There.” After several number-one singles and thousands of records sold, Michael eventually branched off to pursue his solo career. I doubt anyone was surprised by this decision due to the level of star quality Michael had even as a young boy just starting out in the music business.
It all started when I was only 3 months old, that was when I became a child model. If I was told that my career would have grown this far I would have never believed it! My mother was a child model, so that’s why she decided to put her own children into modeling at a young age. From that moment on it easily became my passion.
The presidential election is around the corner and the people of this nation have a very important job to stay updated and willing to compromise. Watching campaigns and keeping up with the race is only a small task. Soon an individual will be asked to form a stern decision and cast a very vital vote. This will give a candidate the key to our future. Of those running in the election, the democratic candidates share similar beliefs and concerns with a portion United States citizens, no matter their economic status.
“Everybody’s at was with different things… I’m at war with my own heart sometimes.” Tupac Shakur was a Hip Hop rapper in East Harlem. Barack Obama has been credited with doing a lot for the United States during his eight years in office. His accomplishments include as passing legislation to help the United States economy during their time of need. Lowering carbon emissions, greenhouse gasses and their environmental footprint, as well as help bring millions of troops home who were doing tours in Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan. Some would agree that his biggest accomplishment. Was becoming the United states' first black president which is a huge accomplishment on its own.
It’s easy to become super nostalgic about the last eight years and the Obama presidency. Like every president before him, Barack Obama was by no means perfect, but you can’t deny that over his time in the White House he’s managed to accomplish a lot. From the legalization of gay marriage to saving the country from a catastrophic depression, President Obama has led Americans through some of the most important and trying times in our history. He and his family will surely be missed by many Americans. Of course, Obama isn’t the first US president to win the Nobel Peace Prize, appoint a woman to the Supreme Court, or lead a scandal-free presidency.
In the first year, I was a part of a pioneering youth development team in Americorps NCCC Southwest Region. I worked with K-12 students in title one schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, local non-profit organizations, The Red Cross and The Salvation Army. I spent my second year working with underserved youth as a volunteer coordinator for Reading Partners in DC. I learned about the struggles that the students I worked with dealt with every day. I was also able to interact with parents and provide resources for education, housing, food, and nutrition.
My internship was with the Boys and Girls Club LeBron James Clubhouse. I worked with students from the Akron area that were in less than ideal home situations and I saw a huge need for a positive role model in their life that was dedicated to working towards helping them succeed and advocating for them and their needs. It was after my experiences at the Boys and Girls Club that I decided my next step would be to follow in my mother’s footsteps and become a school
AMONG Nelson Mandela’s many achievements, two stand out. First, he was the world’s most inspiring example of fortitude, magnanimity and dignity in the face of oppression, serving more than 27 years in prison for his belief that all men and women are created equal. During the brutal years of his imprisonment on Robben Island, thanks to his own patience, humour and capacity for forgiveness, he seemed freer behind bars than the men who kept him there, locked up as they were in their own self-demeaning prejudices. Indeed, his warders were among those who came to admire him most.
