Many events took place - the Boston Tea Party for example - before the American Revolution. Many were what caused it to happen. All of them were not just for the Americans cause, some were for the British too. Some things that caused the American Revolution are all the taxes without representation, the dept of the king, and the colonists rebelling. After the many battles in Europe, the British King was in debt from buying all the heavy equipment to win the war. Some of those wars are the French and Indian War, and the War between Britain and France. The Seven Years War took place in the American continent and the War between Britain and France was fought in Europe. The King was in need of money. He had to get that money somewhere, so he
Raven, you are right. The British felt as if the colonies should accept the consequences for the colonists ' actions at the Boston Tea Party. As a form of punishment, the British passed the Intolerable Acts. The Intolerable Acts included the following: the Boston Port Act, which closed Boston 's port until the East India Company was repaid; the Massachusetts Government Act, which empowered the king to elect government officials in Massachusetts; the Administration of Justice Act, which allowed the government to move a colonist 's trial to another colony if a fair trial was unavailable in Massachusetts; and the Quartering Act, which permitted British troops to occupy vacant buildings when in the
The Boston Tea Party was carefully and thoroughly planned as the Bostonian 's were not to do anything until December 17, 1773. On that day they were to dress as Indians, equipped themselves with either a small hatchet or a tomahawk, and paint their faces with coal. As they got to Griffin’s wharf they separated into three groups and Leonard Pitt was the commander of George Hewes’ Crew. At this point Pitt orders Hewes to retrieve the keys from the captain for the hatches and candles. Next, the commanders orders them to take the tea filled chests, split them open and throw them overboard.
The Boston Tea Party was a key event that provoked the start of the Revolution. Furious at the colonists for rebelling him, the king was in shock. In response to these rebelling colonists, the king made the colonists life miserable.
The American colonists held the Boston Tea Party on December, 1773. It was not a party though. It was a protest against taxs from England. The British Parliament had already taxed sugar, coffee, wine, and newspapers. The tea tax was too much.
The Coercive Acts were a series of acts set up as a consequence of the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party was a “famed act of American colonial defiance served as a protest against taxation. Seeking to boost the troubled East India Company, British Parliament adjusted import duties with the passage of the Tea Act in 1773. While consignees in Charleston, New York, and Philadelphia rejected tea shipments, merchants in Boston refused to concede to Patriot pressure.” (History Channel)
Another event that started the Revolutionary war was the Battle of Lexington and Concord. Also, the American Revolution could have started because of taxes. The British gave overpriced taxes to the colonists. I believe that it was not just one incident that started the war, but many events
One of the most iconic acts of rebellion from American history is the Boston Tea Party. Dressed as Indians, the Brothers of Liberty snuck onto three boats and dumped British-backed East India Trading Company tea into the Boston Harbor. This was in response to unfair taxation being implemented on the American Colonies. That was some 200-plus years ago when times were very different, but through their acts of bravery and courage, they have inspired a movement today called the Tea Party Movement. Different from the Boston Tea Party, the Tea Party Movement is a political group rather than one act of rebellion.
The first main cause contributing to the Revolution can be cited as the imposition of various harsh acts and taxes to generate more revenue from the American colonies in order to meet the expenses of the French-Indian wars. Sugar Act, Stamp Act, etc. are some examples of these acts. With these impositions of such unacceptable acts, the unrest in the colonies started brewing which ultimately led to the great Revolt. Boston Massacre was another important reason/cause and contributing factor behind The American Revolution. All these causes were fuelled by the fact that no representatives were allowed to represent American colonies to raise their voice in the British parliament, and their needs were continually suppressed by the British administration.
To start off, the Boston tea party was one of the causes of the American Revolution But before we get into the Boston tea party, we have to know a few things about the French and Indian War. Basically Britain and France fight a war for control over North America from 1756 to 1763. Britain wins, however they went into a big amount of debt fighting in it. After the war, the government of the British decided that the American colonist had to help pay that debt.
The Boston Massacre was an accident in the beginning, but it continued to go on until it reached an extent where it could be an accident no longer. The real question is when did this accident start, and when did it get too far? Some say it should have never happened. others say it was the start of the revolution. Captain Thomas Preston was a British officer stationed in Massachusetts staying in a home with other soldiers under the Quartering Act.

The American Revolution occurred between 1765 and 1783. Colonists in the thirteen american colonies had disagreements with the british monarchy and aristocracy. The American Revolution War was also known as the U.S. War of Independence. During these years Americans went through a series of battles and new laws and rules were set. During the American Revolution there were a lot of long term and short term causes, including economic factors, english political legacy, and foreign policy.
There were many disagreements and because of those, many events were the cause of the American Revolution. These events included bloodshed by others, peoples rights weren’t enforced, individuals didn’t receive freedom, and our country was just not yet whole. Despite of the causes of why the road to Revolution took place there were effects afterwards. When American Revolution was over with the The Declaration of Independence came into place, treaties were signed, and the Bill of Rights. Now these effects/events were amazing, it helped our country tremendously.
The Boston Tea Party Have you ever wondered what it would be like if an iconic moment in history had never happened? Although The Boston Tea Party cost Great Britain a great deal of important resources it was a necessary event for the Colonists to get their freedom. The British Parliament passed the Intolerable Acts to punish the Colonies for dumping British goods in the harbor. The Boston Tea Party also paved the way for the Revolutionary War. Therefore the American way of life would be extremely different today had the Boston Tea Party never happened.
