The JonBenet Ramsey's case has received groundbreaking publicity since existing. Several factors have played a part in the controversy over who really killed JonBenet. It has led to many theories and stumbling blocks of who DNA was found at the scene of crime over the years. The issue continues to focus on the Ramsey family. Based on research, JonBenet's father, John, and brother Burke stands out from the rest as the killer. I strongly believe that JonBenet's brother Burke initiated the murder and the father John finished it. Burke's mental capacity is questionable due to his jealousy of his sister. At times, he would exhibit rambling speech and admit to the crime. Another factor that Burke is the primary killer is that JonBenet's autopsy …show more content…
The fingerprints of Burke were found on a bowl of pineapple discovered in the kitchen after the murder. Neither John nor Patsy Ramsey had any knowledge of how JonBenet obtained the fruit at the time of her death. As a result, Burke got angry and utilized a stun gun to JonBenét's chin. Another reason is a later review of autopsy photographs revealed the electrodes of a stun gun would not have been lethally enough to knock JonBenet unconscious. The third reason that JonBenet's father is involved is the autopsy report also revealed that she had sustained a blow to the head, possibly from a large torch or baseball bat, about an hour before she was strangled. This finding justifies that the father found the body unconscious on the kitchen floor from the blow from the stun gun. John and Patsy Ramsey then attempted to cover up what Burke had done. Patsy was accessory to the fact by writing a fake three-page ransom letter. John masterminded the crime scene by reconstructing the crime by strangling JonBenet and violently hitting JonBenet in the head with a blunt object to design a botched kidnapping after the …show more content…
On JonBenet's genital area, abrasions and bleeding were discovered by on autopsy. Her body was washed after the sexual assault removing all evidence. The fourth reason is the garrote knot used to bind and asphyxiate JonBenét was a highly complex knot. This type of knot is usually utilized by someone who has had specific martial arts, military training, and sexual interest in sexual bondage (Forensic Outreach, 2016). It is impossible and unlikely that Burke could have mastered a complicated knot such as this. This justifies an adult’s involvement in this aspect of the crime possibly John due to his experience (Forensic Outreach, 2016). Shortly after the murder, video footage of the police interview with Burke demonstrated no signs of trauma or emotional distress. Burke was completed com. At the end of Patsy’s 5:52 a.m. 911 call, Burke Ramsey’s voice could be heard when the phone did not disconnect when placed on the kitchen countertop (Nicholson, 2016). Burke was instructed by his parents to go to his room and remain in bed until his father came and got
Some may find this piece of evidence not important, but the night of her death Jonbenet did wet the bed; Patsy HATED that Jonbenet was wetting her bed. That night she could’ve got so mad at her and accidentally did the deed. The ransom note was analyzed and Patsy’s writing was said to be a possible match to the note, but it was inconclusive. Patsy also found the note, which was placed on the back of the stairs (the part you see while walking up). This is odd because she claims to have found it while walking down the stairs and it would essentially be impossible for her to see the pages.
1996, JonBenet Ramsey was found dead in the Ramsey's basement. It all started with a ransom note that was found by the mother, Patricia (Patsy) Ramsey, early that morning. The ransom note was not any typical short note left by a murderer, it was a two and a half page note. On the note, the killer demanded $118,000, one hundred thousand of it being in one hundred dollar bills and the rest in twenty dollar bills. The killer stated , "She is safe and unharmed and if you want her to see 1997, you must follow our instructions to the letter."
First is that an intruder broke into their home, wrote the note, and killed JonBenét. Next is the mother Patsy, who might have had a motive of jealousy from the attention her daughter received, and thus killed her and had John help cover it up. Lastly, Burke may have unintentionally murdered his sister by hitting her with a flashlight after she took his food and ran, but John and Patsy staged it to be as if someone else had kidnapped and murdered her. If the crime scene had not been contaminated, if family and friends spoke to the police further, and if Burke would have spoken in depth about his childhood relationship with his sister – the investigation may have had further evidence to go upon. Nonetheless, the Boulder County attorney declared on October 13th, 1999 that there was not enough sufficient evidence to declare anyone as the culprit.
In Jonbenét Ramsey’s autopsy, in the digestive tract, were small increments of pineapple. Jonbenét may have taken a piece of pineapple using her hands, causing Burke to release all of his anger. Burke, in an uncontrollable rage, would strike Jonbenét Ramsey in the head with the flashlight in the kitchen. With all of this evidence point to Burke Ramsey as the murderer, there is a shunned theory that an outsider infiltrated the Ramsey household and killed Jonbenét
The police investigating the crime said that the way the body was placed seemed like a cover-up for the crime, but could have also been moved by the father who found and picked her up, and that the ransom note was staged by Patsy Ramsey. In 2002 the DA reinvestigated the case, this time they looked at people that were not related to JonBenet as suspects. In 2008 the DA sent out an apology letter to the ramseys declaring that the family was completely cleared from the crime, and in February 2009 the Boulder Police reopened the investigation. There are two main theories about who killed JonBenet Ramsey one of the two is the Intruder Theory, Smits Theory was a theory that someone had broken into the ramseys
Based on the information obtained during the case review, it would seem that as most of society, I feel compelled to believe that the parents had some hand in the death of JonBenét. The lengthy ransom letter which indicates the writer was comfortable in the residence in taking the time to pen such a long and deliberate letter after starting over twice. Likewise, the unanimous agreement among the handwriting experts that Patsy Ramsey in “high probability contributed to the writing of the ransom letter” (KILLER REVEALED "Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey?", 2015). A second point is the transfer of fiber evidence from the mother’s jacket to the rope, duct tape, and the blanket found on JonBenét body, although the mother alleged she redressed in
This means JonBenet was killed by being strangled with having a blow to the head. There was evidence of vaginal trauma as well. The police found a large black flashlight and a garrote in the house which many people believe are the murder weapons. Now knowing the nature of this crime, here is when mistakes happens. Once Pasty called about her missing daughter, police officer Rick French was the first to respond.
After finding his daughter's body John took it upon himself to remove the duct tape from JonBenet’s mouth and carry her upstairs. Because state officials and others did not take this crime scene very seriously and an abundance important evidence had been tampered with, they did not have a solid investigation. Nina Grawal states “police didn't formally interview JonBenet's parents until four months after her death. Arndt reportedly gave Patsy Ramsey's lawyer a photocopy of the handwritten ransom note around the same time that Patsy was being asked to provide handwriting samples by other officers.” This indicates that Patsy and John Ramsey were originally never seriously considered as potential suspects while the investigation was still taking place.
What the authorities know about the 1996 murder case of Jonbenét Ramsey, was that she was killed by asphyxiation (JB, A3), she was found in the basement of her home, on her back, duct tape binding her arms, and covering her mouth. (A&E, B1). She was
When I looked at the handwriting of the ransom note and the handwriting of Patsy, there are some similarities, within the letters. Any individual can make their handwriting look sloppy, but there will always be similarities. I believe Patsy could have been irritated by something that JonBent could have possibly done, which caused Patsy to hit JonBent with a forceful object that could have caused serious brain damage. Instead of taking JonBent to the hospital she decide to stage a crime sense of a kidnap and murder instead. If Patsy did murder her daughter she got away with the
The murder of Jonbenet Ramsey is a really depressing and mysterious at that. The murder was extremely brutal, she had wounds on her face, a cracked skull, duct tape on her mouth, she was tied up, and she had a garrote around her neck. According to the documentary we watched she was hit in the head with a flashlight and then strangled with a garrote. It was expected that she snatched a piece of pineapple from her brother’s bowl in which he hit her with a flashlight because of it, and she was still alive so it was most likely the parents got in on it because they didn’t want to be filed for abuse and jailed so they strangled her to death and put a blanket over her body, breaking a window and adding a ransom note to make it seem like someone broke in.
One theory was that Patsy had possibly lost her temper with JonBenet, while frustrated at her for wetting the bed, and she may have struck her daughter and caused her to hit her head. After realizing JonBenet was injured Pasty may have tried to cover it up by staging the body to look like she had been kidnapped and murdered. Authorities shifted the focus of their investigation on the parents rather than an intruder yet John and Patsy continued to proclaim their innocence. On January 1, 1997, the day after JonBenet was buried, the Ramsey’s agreed to an interview on CNN, with Brian Cabell. John and Patsy told Cabell that there was a “killer on the loose” and pleaded with the community for them to “keep your babies close to you”.
Patsy Ramsey dictated every bit of JonBenéts life, primarily through pageants, where she shined, being crowned nine times within two years (PageantStarsUSA). On December 26th, 1996, JonBenét was found dead in her basement by her father. Multiple pieces of evidence suggesting that the Ramseys killed their daughter. In the shocking controversial case of the JonBenét Ramsey murder, the verdict incorrectly acquitted John and Patsy Ramsey of murder and child abuse, even though evidence towards the staging of the murder, along with signs and variations of child abuse, and the mishandling of key points of evidence and investigation. Many pieces of evidence point towards the staging of the murder.
When the autopsy was completed, it showed that JonBenet had eaten pineapple shortly before she died. A bowl of pineapple was found in the Ramsey’s home and had Patsy Ramsey’s fingerprints all over it (Bane, 2016). Close family friends also told investigators that Patsy loved acting and theater. They also said that Patsy would often practice roles and characters around her house (“JonBenet Ramsey…,” 2016). This was not hard evidence, but it showed detectives that Patsy could have very easily acted her way out of suspicion.
Catastrophically, a beautiful child lost her life in a horrendous crime that has yet to be solved. Additionally, a string of law enforcement mistakes, hinder the investigation, keeping this homicide a mystery, of how this little girl was murdered in her home where her mother, father, and brother resided with her. First, John and Patsy Ramsey were in the upper class of Boulder, Colorado society. John had built his computer company into a billion-dollar corporation. On December 26, 1996, Patsy Ramsey awoke just after five a.m. and walked downstairs to her kitchen finding a two-and-a-half page note at the foot of the stairs.
