Surroundings have a major impact on one’s life. Such as Felicia Morgan’s life, she grew up in a horrendous neighborhood where killing often occurred and violence was a norm. According to the essay “The ghetto made me do it”, growing up Felicia was surrounded by violence. Felicia mother was a drug addict. She set Felicia’s father on fire and shot a boyfriend.
Also when Felicia was a child she would sit down to have meals and her parents would have guns next to them to protect themselves from each other. As horrible as this sound to add to it Felicia was raped at the age of 12. No child should go through bad experiences like Felicia’s. Some may argue that society is responsible for these acts, but I completely disagree.
