When Elizabeth I came to the throne in 1558 the situation required action and within a year the Act of Uniformity was passed. Everyone had to attend the Church of England service or they could be fined, or worse. The Queen was the head of the Church of England and every loyal subject was expected to accept and acknowledge that. If you were against the Protestant faith, then you must be against the Queen and the country - a traitor. Anyone wanting to remain a Roman Catholic was seen as a potential traitor and spy. At Elizabeth 's death in 1603, there was a hope amongst Catholics that the new ruler, James VI of Scotland …show more content…
The cellar lay directly underneath the House of Lords (a chamber in the Palace of Westminster where the parliament was going to perform), and over the following months 36 barrels of gunpowder were moved in, enough to blow everything and everyone in the vicinity sky high, if ignited. In October, with only weeks to go, the final details were planned. Fawkes was to light the fuse and escape to continental Europe. To coincide with the explosion, Digby would go to the Midlands and kidnap King James 's daughter, Princess Elizabeth, ready to install her as a puppet queen. In Europe, Fawkes would be arguing the plotters ' case to continental governments, to secure their passive acceptance, even support. Discovery As the conspirators realized that the act could lead to the death of many innocent people and defenders of the Catholic cause, they sent notices to some of them to keep away from the Parliament on the day of the attack. Unfortunately for the conspirators one of the warnings reached the king, who ordered an inspection of the parliament …show more content…

Document 3, the 1559 Act of Supremacy from the Parliament of England, shows how she got Parliament to acknowledge her as supreme governor of the Church of England in accordance with her father’s break from the Catholic Church in 1534. This reinforcement also shows her strong will to lead and maintain her position. Document 6, a report on Elizabeth’s response to a Parliamentary petition on succession by Jacques Bochetel de La Forest, a French ambassador to England, shows some bias as the French were under Catholic rule at the time as opposed to the Elizabeth, who was Protestant. He describes how Elizabeth defends her position and attacks Parliament for being incompetent on the issue. She says that she will work with half a dozen men to decide what to do.

Although there are many reasons why the American Revolution started, a few of them had a larger consequence. First, the Boston Massacre had a major impact on the American Revolution. To continue, another instigator to the colonists seeking their independence was the Boston Tea Party. Lastly, The Battles of Lexington and Concord really pushed towards the American Revolution. Let us begin with how the Boston Massacre had a significant impact on the American Revolution.
The Boston Massacre was an accident in the beginning, but it continued to go on until it reached an extent where it could be an accident no longer. The real question is when did this accident start, and when did it get too far? Some say it should have never happened. others say it was the start of the revolution. Captain Thomas Preston was a British officer stationed in Massachusetts staying in a home with other soldiers under the Quartering Act.
1. Immediate Aftermath On August 6, 1945, at 8:15 a.m., an atomic bomb by the name of “Little Boy” detonated 1,900 feet above the city of Hiroshima. The bomb exploded directly above the Shima Surgical Clinic with the force of about 16 kilotons of TNT, causing the burst temperature to exceed 1 million degrees Celsius and creating a massive fireball measuring 840 feet in diameter. If the following events didn’t take place we wouldn’t have America. In my opinion the Boston Massacre was one of the very main causes to why the Road to Revolution took place. The reason I believe this was an important cause because it was, “ the first episode which resulted in the loss of life.” It is stated that, “Four Bostonians were killed when Redcoats fired into an angry mob.”
sion, Lizzie had several reasons to kill her stepmom and dad. The crime scene is another thing that hints Lizzie killed her stepmom and dad. For example, the placement of them is very weird. Andrew was laying on a couch with 11 whacks to his face; Abby was found lying in the floor with 18 whacks to her face, but everything around them was in place (Linder, 2004).
The Boston Massacre was not a random event there were many actions that had led up to this massacre. On March 5, 1770 shots were fired from the British toward the colonists. But why?Why did the British fire? The Boston Massacre was important to the American revolution because the British killed unarmed colonists and the event would counting to spark the start of revolution.
The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a “patriot”. They were throwing sticks, snowballs, and trash at a group of British troops. The loyalists got very annoyed with the patriots so they shot into the mob killing five. The riot began when around 50 colonists attacked a British sentinel. A British officer called in for additional troops
Various people throughout England would not bear the idea of Queen Elizabeth taking the throne. It was trusted that a woman's place wasn’t in ruling a country or being head of the church simply because God reserved the right for men. John Knox

In the 1980s graphic novelists Alan Moore and David Lloyd created a comic strip, "V for Vendetta", in which the main protagonist is a cloaked anarchist who wears a grinning, mustachioed Guy Fawkes mask while battling against a fascist authoritarian state. The authors wanted to celebrate Fawkes by turning him into an anti-hero for the modern age. The comic was made into a film in 2006, and although it deviated from the original in a number of ways the mask of "V" was a faithful rendition of the stylized image from the book. Plastic masks to commemorate the release of the film were distributed to fans and could be bought online. Two years later, in January 2008, Anonymous launched "Project Chanology"—a coordinated attack on the Church of Scientology’s
