There have been times when I chose people expecting them to work as a team, together, but ended up doing nothing which forced me to work all alone while the credit was taken by the entire team while it wasn’t practically ‘A TEAM’. My current goal in PDP is to complete this assignment with full enthusiasm and put my level best into it. A person may not find it easy initially but as the person keeps completing the set goals his confidence and will to achieve will keep increasing day by day.
CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
Conflict management can only be done by understanding the people around you. So I have decided to listen to every person’s view point from now on. I will also get a clear idea of what the conflict is, before giving out any suggestions or statements. I will also make sure that my team will have a common goal as conflict of interests is a huge problem while working in the same organisation. Introduction Conflict is unpleasant, but inevitable throughout life. In any situation involving two or people, conflict may arise. Conflict can be defined as, “any situation in which incompatible goals, cognitions, or emotions within or between individuals or groups lead to opposition or antagonistic interaction” (Learning Team Toolkit, 2004, pp 242-243). People come from different backgrounds and live through different life experiences therefore, even when working towards a common goal, they will not always agree. Major conflict that is not dealt with can devastate a team or organization (Make Conflict Work, 2008).
