There is debate about whether the Industrial Revolution made people better off but it was a good thing because there was a major increase in job opportunities. Another good thing that came from the Industrial Revolution was more efficient production. Also cheaper prices made things better. The main reasoning for this argument would be the job opportunities increase. An increase in job opportunities was a major plus from the Industrial Revolution. Factories began to pop up everywhere and the factories couldn’t run without employees. Urbanization also played a role in the job increase because 80% of of people lives in rural areas so migrants moved from the countryside so small towns made large cities. Also at this point children weren’t allowed
Although the industrial revolution had positive impacts such as helping the economy, it led many places to illiteracy, loss of life, and an increase in crime rate. There were many great effects of the Industrial Revolution, which helped Great Britain's economy grow more efficiently. Firstly, Great Britain was the first country to industrialize, meaning they had cheaper goods which other countries at the time were in need of leading Great Britain to mass trading. Secondly, when they made factories, they required people to work in these factories, leading to growth in the employment rate. Lastly, document 4 states that industrialization made “not only travel at less expense but travels ten times quicker than two hundred years ago”.
The industrial revolution improved and is still improving our community, but it wasn’t all good. The good things that came from this revolution didn’t start out well. Many rules had to be made because of these corrupt ways. The industrial revolution did many great things that improve our society today. These rules and improvements were made because of the ways things were done before.
The new factory system allowed products to be more widely available to the public. The price dropped due to the increase of production and now even the lower classes in society could afford these mass produced products. “You are surrounded… with an infinite number of comforts and conveniences which had no existence two or three centuries ago and those comforts are not used only by a few, but are within the reach of almost all men.” (Document 4) Document 4 demonstrates the idea of how things products that didi’t exist previously was able to be in the hands of whoever wanted it. Another positive affect of the Industrial Revolution was how there were many more jobs available within society.
I choose to defend the prompt of my choice in more detail. In the 1870's, as the Civil War receded into memory, the United States became a leading Industrial power. Advances in technology and new access to the immense resources of the North American continent drove American Industrialization. This industrialization brought the growth of new American cities such as Chicago, and the arrival of a flood of immigrants from all over Europe to man the factories. During the Gilded Age, businessmen reaped enormous profits from this new economy.
This example confirms that with more factories being made and more people getting jobs, than the more money that factory’s industry is making, which results in the US economy growing. Another positive that came from the industrial revolution are worker unions. Worker unions are groups of people who try to create better wages and safer work conditions. These unions would go on strikes to get what they were fighting for. During these strikes, there was less pollution being admitted into the Earth, since there was no work going on in the factories.
This also allowed the farmers to make more money based off their production of products. But unforntelly with positives there also were negative attributes to the farmers that resulted from the industrial revolution. Many of the negatives that affected the famers had to do with the influx of products. Since the railroads made it more accessible for farmers to get their goods to market this caused an influx of
As a result more goods to produce, and more job opportunities for citizens. The Industrial Revolution also improved the standard living for city dwellers, who prior to the Industrial Revolution worked 16 hours at lower wages. Next, farmers move to cities increasing population among cities. Most of the cities changed social conduct, and political movements. 2.-
The Industrial Revolution had many positive and negative effects of how the people felt and did with the Great depression happening in the early 1900’s. Many of the positives were because of the big booms in large cities with supply and demand. There was a huge boom in Pittsburgh due to the large steel production. There were negative effects because of all of the low working wages, the economy dropping, and the desperate needs of everyone needing money. Other negative effects were also horrible conditions in factories, really low pay, unfair working hours and some of the workers were kids between the ages of 10-16.
However there were some positives about the Industrial Revolution; which people will most likely argue about. For example, an insignificant amount of factories gave their workers an education, as well as a satisfying wage to put food on the table. Also in document three Andrew Ure states that no worker has been beaten during working hours. In addition, no worker has ever felt exhausted after a day of work.
The Industrial Revolution witnessed the evolution of large urban centers, such as Boston and New York City. It changed society from agrarian to mechanical, which further moved jobs to larger cities. As every coin has two sides, there are negative sides to this. Primarily, it caused severe pollution. The environment condition was bad with smokes surrounding them.
The Industrial Revolution, which started in Great Britain in the late 17th century and continued through the 19th century, had both positive and negative effects on society. On the positive side, it led to increased productivity, economic growth, and technological advancements that revolutionized transportation and communication. However, it also had negative impacts on workers, including poor working conditions, long hours, and low pay. It also had negative effects on the environment, contributing to pollution and other forms of environmental degradation. The Industrial Revolution brought many changes to society, both with positive and negative consequences.
This revolution brought many hope, the Industrial Revolution was overall a positive time for the people of Great Britain: job opportunities had increased significantly, the amount of technological advances and new inventions was endless, and education finally played an important role in society. Education became important to the
Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
A major debate among Historians is if the Industrial Revolution was helpful or harmful. The industrial revolution created a big change in the society of America. It was an age of innovation and creativeness for the inventors of the world. It was an age of sorrow and despair for the workers of the world.
The Industrial Revolution began over 200 years ago. It changed the way in which many products, including cloth and textiles, were manufactured. It is called a "revolution" because the changes it caused were great and sudden. It greatly affected the way people lived and worked. This revolution helped to bring about the modern world we know today in many ways.
