Reading The Shack affected me both spiritually and morally. It was challenging to read some of the ideas this book had, spiritually. Although, I related it to many different events that I have faced in my own life. I have related Mack to my own father and his strength towards our family. Also, I have related it to losing my grandfather, who played a huge role in my life growing up. Without these two people in my life, I would have not been the person I am today. An impactful moment, I had with the book was when Mack was telling his kids the story of the Indian Princess. This princess sacrificed her own life for her tribe’s lives because her tribe was sick, and it was the only way to save their lives. After the story was told, Katie and Missy continued to ask questions to their father, Mack. The question that struck me the most was when Missy ask, “Then how come he’s so mean?” She was referring to God, and how Jesus sacrificed his life for us just like the Indian Princess.
Missy wanted to know how a man can make his people do horrid things like sacrificing themselves for others. Mack responds fairly well to her by saying “Sweetheart, Jesus didn’t think his Daddy was mean. He thought his Daddy was full of love and loved him very much. His Daddy didn’t make him die. Jesus chose to die because he and his Daddy

Jesus and the holy spirit are just different forms of God. It is up to us how we see them. Our churches may have a certain image of them, but reading this book made me think it is up to ourselves how we see God, Jesus, and the holy spirit. It is easy for us to see Jesus as a handsome, tall, strong man, but he was not. He was just like us, his people. I believe God is walking among us people, working wonders every day. People might ask how is he walking among us? I will tell you how. He is inside of all of us, working within
If you see someone struggling with something just try to help out. Also try to be kind to others because you don’t know what they are going through. What I liked about the book is when Papa came to Francisco graduation. The part of the book that i didn’t like is when Papa didn’t go to most of Francisco’s graduation’s.
The Holy Spirit is defined as “God’s power in action, his active force.” “The Spirit of God is like the wind it is invisible, immaterial and powerful;” (n.a., 2017) just as the Force
His use of the quote from (Matthew 22:36-40) help him accuse the humanity others hold, and how they could allow their ‘neighbor’ to go through such emotional pains and

These both show that even against seemingly impossible odds you can still thrive and overcome any hardship and grow into a successful and honorable person. This also shows how much a child’s caregiver and the way they are raised can affect them. Abuse is a very serious issue and going unnoticed can have very harmful
His belief in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit shapes him into the kind of guy someone would want to be like. “The Shack” first starts over Labor Day weekend in Oregon with Mack talking to his daughter, she begged Mack to tell her favorite story, the legend of the beautiful Indian maid who killed herself for her people and the man she loved. It sparked questions and reflections in Missy’s mind. She wanted to know why God asked his own children to die. Mack said that they weren’t forced to die, but did so for their love of their people.
These are significant elements of literature because they are a driving force to the story, developing the plot and characters. This connection is significant to me because I was able to see Qibli and Melinda evolve right before my eyes. They were both shy, self-conscious and worried about things normal children don’t really have to worry about. Thorn and Freeman helped Melinda and Qibli achieve a sense of “normal” they haven’t felt in a long time. Their love and comfort for these kids is the reason why this connection is significant to
“The Shack” presents the story of Mack Phillips (Sam Worthington) who questions his faith after a family tragedy. He later finds a letter telling him to go to an abandoned shack where he meets three strangers --- the characters that represent the Trinity --- who help him understand the purpose of his
Tangerine, a book that changed my life. A story so frenetic, so emotional, so inspirational that it made me fall in love with literature. My surreal connection with the book ensnared me to the beauty of writing and the impact that literature could have on someone. Now I don’t see books as writing, but as stories of real lives, as mysterious that need to be solved, as inspirations that need to learned from. Despite my imperfections, Tangerine made me believe in myself and face the reality with dreams to be

The journey I was taken on while reading the novel had a beneficial effect on myself, expressed significance to the world about a common topic and showed how the main character gradually changed throughout the story. I felt
The children’s bonding experiences grow more through their troubles. They look out for each other. In one chapter, Jeanette talks about how her and her siblings had to ride in the back of a U-Haul and they had
It taught me that strength and perseverance can make a significant impact in life. I also learned that forgiveness and the ability to forgive is much more powerful than I ever realized. This novel sucked me into the story and its characters and took me on an emotional ride of highs and lows. Finally, it forced me to reevaluate my previous judgement of the homeless.
I would recommend this book because it is a page turner once you get involved in the book. I had mixed opinions about this book because I found the start to not be very exciting, but after a little while once the Joads got moving on the road to California it became a lot more intense. The family faces many hardships along the way such as losing family members and also having two die, but they also meet many new people. The main idea of this book was family because no matter how bad it was Ma was able to keep the family composed. There were many characters throughout this book
When I first met someone who didn’t like the book I was beyond shocked. Right at that moment, I realized that reading has its own effects on me. Reading has changed my writing skills, it has improved my knowledge and lastly, it has helped me manage my stress while going through hard times. Without reading I wouldn’t be the person that I am today.
