The Sacco Vanzetti trial was a trial that occurred during the time of the Red scare where people feared and accused others of communism. Unfortunately for these two italian men known as Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were accused of robbery and murder at the Slater and Morrill shoe factory in South Braintree in 1921. Later on both men were executed on April, 9 1927. The Sacco and Vanzetti trial was considered a witch hunt due to the red scare and the little evidence that was disproven. Due to the Red scare the men had an unfair trial and were falsely accused. Sacco and Vanzetti were never implicated with the acts of violence, they were italian immigrants who came to work and better their lives however the men were anarchist which did

On the afternoon of April 15, 1920, payroll clerk Frederick Parmenter and security guard Alessandro Berardelli were shot to death and robbed of over $15,000 in cash in South Braintree, Massachusetts. After a few weeks, arrests were made and charges were brought against two Italian immigrants by the names of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. A well known attorney, Fred H. Moore, was brought in to defend Sacco and Vanzetti. The accused immigrants had no criminal records, but were known as outspoken anarchists, labor organizers, and antiwar activists. These activities were viewed with great suspicion during this time period.
Douglas O. Linder, professor and historian of University of Missouri mentions,” Sacco and Vanzetti were two innocent victims, who were used to send a political and economic message to the rising tide of anarchist
Many of them were sent to the politicians who passed the Anarchists Exclusion Act. This led to the conspiracy of political murder in the United States. The major targets were John D. Rockefeller and J.P. Morgan. The Anarchists that were arrested and deported were the Italians and the Immigration commissioner was targeted for this. Agents from FBI were even targeted for arresting the
Also as mentioned Sacco and Vanzetti were anarchists, which means they did not see the necessity in government. At the time there was a government crackdown on radicals which brought out the “Red Scare,” which is the fear of communism spreading in the working class. Just two days before Sacco and Vanzetti were arrested they were put on a watchlist by the government for fear that they might be radicals as well. In addition, as another result of all the immigration at the time and the ending of the war, the U.S. had a strong feeling of nativism. Even throughout history americans always expressed hostility to immigrants that threaten the “American way of life.”
San Piedro is an island containing about 5,000 people. Fishing and strawberry fields are the main sources of income for the residents. Citizens’ houses are close together, and Amity Harbor is the island’s only town. The island has huge green hills and many fields that are filled with alfalfa, feed corn, and strawberries. During the winter, which is the time of the trial, Amity Harbor can become covered in sheets of snow.
In the beginnings of the trial, the outlook did not appear well for the two Italian

The trials are one of the most talked about events of hysteria and scapegoating in American history. It all started in January of 1692, when a group of eight young girls started having random outbursts of seizures, contortions and screaming fits. The girls then started accusing innocent women of being witches, and working for the devil. The first three unfortunate victims the girls accused of this crime were Tituba, a slave, Sarah Good, a
Throughout history, diverse cultures have unveiled fascinating, distinct, and at times astonishing facets of life. By carefully examining the Inquisition trial of Jucan Luis, we can gain profound insights into the surprising, strange, and odd practices prevalent during that period and contrast them with our present-day perspectives. On the night of August 28th, Jucan Luis was found engaging in scandalous acts such as conjuring spells and summoning demons. By unraveling the enigmatic nature of Luis and the sequence of events leading to his arrest, we aim to explore the underlying reasons behind these occurrences. Don Pedro Flores de Acebedo, the magistrate of Xochimilco, reports discovering pictures of devils painted on Luis's left arm.
And died.” (Doc F) In doing this both men had consequences, some worse than others, and instead of lying and saying the names of people that truly didn’t do anything they refused to in a sense testify. All of these points both relate to McCarthyism and The Crucible. People became selfish and only saw their benefit, neither had evidence to prove anything that they were saying, and people say what effect it was having and started to figure out what was going on so they refused to testify and accepted the consequences.
Some of the reaming Nazi’s got what they deserved, justice. The Nuremburg Trials were two phases of the trails and happened through November 21, 1945-Aprial 13, 1949. The purpose of the Nuremburg Trials was to punish the German Nazi officers and leaders for what they did. According to the article “Nuremburg Trails”, by author William Young, “The Nuremburg Trials prosecuted political, military, and economic leaders of Germany after World War II,” (Young). This means that the trials at Nuremburg found the German political, military, and economic leaders guilty of the charges they committed before, during, and after WWII.
McCarthyism Echo’s The Crucible “For to be free is not merely to cast off ones chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” (Nelson Mandela) Freedom and liberty were things that were not honored in both The Crucible and McCarthyism. The Crucible is a 1953 play by Arthur Miller. It is a fictionalized story of the Salem Witch Trials. It took place in the Massachusetts Bay colony during the year of 1692, which was about a group of young girls in the Salem village who claimed to have seen others with the devil, and accused several innocent women of witchcraft.

As time has passed, throughout history, during different periods of time there are parallels. There are three eras that we are focussed on, where there are three types of people during each era. The three different eras that we’re focusing on, are The Salem Witch Trials (1600s), The McCarthy Era (1950s), and Today (2000s); the three types of people are the people who are the reasons why there’s accusations towards the accused, the accused, and finally the accusers. In The Crucible, or during the Salem Witch Trials, the person that’s the reason why characters were accused is John Proctor. The accuser in the play, who decides to point fingers at everyone, is Abigail Williams.
