Opening statements took place January 24 the following year (Key Dates). The court room had full 24-hour video coverage of the trial. As millions watched on tv as Christopher Darden led off the prosecution's opening statement by portraying Simpson as an abusive husband and a jealous lover of Nicole. He told jurors "If he couldn’t have her didn’t want anybody else to have her." Marcia Clark stated the facts proving Simpson's guilt that they established during the trial (Linder 7). Marcia Clark was the chief prosecutor (Goldberg). Johnnie Cochran was Simpson's lead attorney, who said the opening statement for the defense. He stated a timeline of events that didn't add up also that it was no way that OJ couldn't have pulled off a double murder with the arthritis that he has. Cochran's statement backfired, because Darden asked Simpon's physician if Simpson could have committed the murders and his answer was "yes."
After graduating Brady passed up the chance to play professional baseball and instead went to college to play football at University of Michigan. He made the school's football team but Brady did not spend much time on the field in his first two college seasons. In his junior year he had to fight to stay on the field with Freshman QB Brian Griese and as the starting quarterback Brady had mild success leading several unlikely comebacks to finally win the job and in his final season he lead his team to a win in the Orange Bowl in 2000. Brady was overlooked by teams despite his performance in the Orange bowl but he was finally drafted by the New England Patriots In the 6th Round at pick 199. Tom served as a backup quarterback and played in only one game in his first season.

His second record was not broken until 1973 by O.J. Simpson. He set another NFL record on November 24, 1957, by rushing for 237 yards in a single game. Four years later, on November 19, 1961, he equaled that total amount of rush yards. By the end of his career, Brown had scored 126 touchdowns and gained a record 12,312 yards in 2,369 rushing attempts, an amazing average of 5.22 yards. His rushing record was not broken until 1984 by Walter Payton, who played for the Chicago Bears.
As you may already know, the verdict for the trial of the century was not guilty to the charge of double homicide. The verdict was released on October 3rd, 1995 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court. This essay is about the modern day events of the O.J trial. Orenthal James Simpson was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 1969. He was drafted in the first round as the first pick.
“O.J. Simpson played 11 seasons, he played with the bill from 1969 to 1977 and the with the San Francisco from 1978 to 1979.” O.J. Simpson averaged 1,000 rushing yards five years in a row those years were (1972-1976). This explains his football career goals, records and stats. Throughout O.J.’s whole NFL career he has 11,236 rushing yards and a little over 2,000 receiving yards in total 14,368 yards. He was out in the hall of fame for college in 1983.
After playing football, since he was charismatic and knew the game very well, he became a football commentator on TV and even appeared in a few movies. But in 1994, things took a turn for the worse. He was accused of domestic violence against his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and eventually was a suspect in her horrific murder. Although he was never convicted, many believe he was responsible. His reputation never recovered.
The OJ Simpson murder case was a criminal trial held at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, in which former NFL player OJ Simpson was tried on two counts of murder for the death of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman. He was found not guilty even though there were numerous counts of evidence that showed that OJ was the one who killed his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman. OJ Simpson should have been guilty of murdering Nicole because there was DNA evidence, he had dreams of killing Nicole Simpson, and jealousy could have been the motive that led him to kill Nicole. There was blood found at the crime scene that traced back to OJ’s DNA. Marcia Clark, the lead prosecutor of the murder case, revealed that a blood drop found near the bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman has been linked to OJ Simpson through RFLP testing - the highest level of DNA examination, commonly known as a genetic fingerprint.
Simpson suffered from two types of arthritis at the time of the murder being rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Along with this he suffered from injuries from his football career and close to the time of the murder he had been suffering from severe sweats late at night as stated by his doctor Robert Huizenga(Trial). Overall, his ailments would have severely limited if not eliminated any potential for OJ Simpson to have murdered both Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman with nothing but a small cut on his hand. Outside of the small cut, OJ had no injuries on his body. Both the limo driver that took OJ to the airport and an airport employee whose friend got OJ’s autograph following the murder said that they saw nothing, although the limo driver later stated that he would not have noticed it if it was there(Trial).
I think there is more evidence proving his innocence than his guiltiness. The corruption in this case and the racism in the LAPD helped the defense show that there was not enough evidence to prove that OJ was guilty. There are many reasons why I think OJ is innocent, but the piece of evidence that I think is most important is that all of OJ’s blood at the crime scene contained EDTA. EDTA is something that is put in test tubes with blood to prevent blood clots. EDTA is not found naturally in people's blood, which means someone had to have planted OJ’s blood at the scene.
