Fitness has long been regarded as directly correlated to health in a person. A certain degree of fitness is also required for the completion of several tasks, such as climbing and lifting. The degree of fitness needed depends on the task with many sports often needing a high level of fitness, whereas tasks such as lifting an arm needs relatively little fitness levels. Even within sports, there are different degrees of fitness needed, as well as different types of fitness (Martens, 2004). For example, running would require a great deal of aerobic and cardiovascular fitness.
Stretches, footwork and bag drills help build strength and
“Virtually anyone, regardless of age or physical condition, can benefit from exercise (McArdle, 14).” Although bone and muscle deteriorate over time, exercise can help slow it down and even make them stronger. Many health problems that happen with age can be prevented by physical exercise. Americans typically gain weight throughout their mid-age years. Since the muscle can deteriorate, the weight that is gained back is typically fat.
In chapters nine and ten, the author Gary Thomas does not hold back in his presentation for the need of physical fitness. The information and arguments he provides in these two chapters have applicable truths in them for the reader. I admit that as I read his material I had mixed thoughts, and I agree with the author on several points. Like the author I believe that physical fitness is vital for healthy living. However, there were moments I found dissonance with the author.
Worldwide, malocclusion is becoming more and more common. It is estimated that 40-80% of the overall population is effected by malocclusion (5). Malocclusion occurs when teeth are misaligned, and impairs the functions of the craniofacial structures: the jaw, tongue, and facial muscles (1, 2). Breastfeeding may be the solution to this problem, as the mechanism of breastfeeding can help prevent malocclusion. When compared to bottle-feeding, breastfeeding encourages the palate to adopt the correct shape.

The bodywork that is done on all the muscles and joints makes them more resilient. They help lengthen out short, tightened muscles and increase muscle stability. Muscle imbalances can be corrected for better movements that are less likely to result in
The Use of Strength Training by Older Women to Support Independent Living Strength training is commonly associated with large-muscled men grunting and lifting performing in sports or muscle shows. This stereotype does nothing to encourage women to lift weights and says nothing about a moderate lifting style. Strength training, also called resistance training, is the process of applying weight to muscles requiring them to work harder than ordinarily achieved through activities of daily living (ADL). This process creates micro-tears in the muscle, which are then rebuilt by proteins in the body (Harvard Health Publications [Harvard Health], 2013). This creates a stronger, denser muscle, which is capable of handling increased loads.

Having the privilege to meet Norm and Wilma, who without a doubt are individually amazing people, has been truly inspirational. Norm and Wilma were able to talk about their life course, their views on retirement, opinions on death, and how they overcame the fear of aging. Both Norm and Wilma expressed the same views on their cultivation of happiness.

You may be asking yourself if better communication would in fact decrease the number of deaths per year or more importantly, what can we do to ensure more effective communication? Throughout the years, death by medical error and miscommunication has indeed become more recognized and many new tools have been implemented to help decrease the statistics of deaths per year via medical error. Many people in healthcare who have seen so many preventable deaths happen have come up with programs that have changed the very fabric of communication between doctor and patient. A computer program was created in which documents would first be scanned through a computer software, while being scanned the program would change medical lingo to words and phrases
