Throughout history races have been oppressed. Even after being freed are scared of their previous captors. We see that in this case because even though Tom Robinson is free he still has the mindset of a slave. Tom though free hasn 't pursued an education, which could help him make more money to help his family. This is because Tom thinks he can 't do those things because he is inferior to whites.
Gentleman of the jury, today we have heard the accusations against Tom Robinson. He is accused of rape. I, Atticus Finch, have been appointed as Mr. Robinson’s defense and I urge you to strongly believe that he is telling the truth. In Mr. Heck Tate’s testimony he stated that Tom Robinson has raped Bob Ewell’s daughter called Mayella.
In both of theses stories there is some precious stuff going on. In to kill a mockingbird Tom Robinson was accused of rape that he did not do, but because he was black he had got accused of it. In the report of Emmett Till Till was killed because he had want to the south to visit his family but he was killed because he was black. Emmett Till was innocent but because he had no wetness no one would have ever believed him in his point of view.
During Thomas Jefferson's presidency he exhibited a man who was strongly against slavery and believed in freedom. Jefferson believed that slavery would soon be a destruction to America. He also saw slavery was an abolishment of the right to personal liberty. During the American Revolution, Jefferson began to be involved with the legislation, hoping it would result in the end of slavery. As Jefferson began his journey to end slavery, the population began to increase.
As human being were constantly judged by our appearance and by our actions. Sometimes the way were judged may cause people to get the wrong idea of us. Being constantly judged was a common thing in the city of Maycomb back in the 1930’s, where almost every white person was racist or discriminated the blacks. Tom Robinson was a victim to discrimination and later on lost his life for a crime he hadn’t committed. When people are perceived this way it has the ability to change people’s lives forever.
Tom Robinson is a colored man living down the street from Bob along with some other colored people too. Bob is disturbed by that and he doesn't want them to live by him anymore and will try anything to get them to leave. These people have done no harm to him, but he still does not like them. When he found his daughter after being raped. He did not ask who had done it, he in fact just said.
Racism is presented in this story in many ways, but the most outshining example is with Tom Robinson.

Nigger always comes out in 'em”(240). Tom did not have any hope that anything Atticus could do would help.
Jefferson once said that “Maintaining slavery was like holding “a wolf by the ear, and we can neither hold him, nor safely let him go.” But he never quit he kept fighting for what was right and what he believed in. In the beginning, Jefferson came across events and situations that influenced his decisions and actions which allowed him to think and do the things he did. For instance one of the main events that influenced and motivated Jefferson 's ideas was the 18th century European Enlightenment also known as the Age of Reasoning.
A Mockingbird is a powerful symbol of goodness. A mockingbird is a type of bird that mimics other types of birds songs and sings beautiful songs that are peaceful, the mockingbird is a peaceful animal that doesn't cause harm or trouble and is not to be harmed, because it is a sin to kill a mockingbird, thus killing a mockingbird is to destroy innocence. In the story To Kill a Mockingbird the two characters that are most related to being a mockingbird would be Tom Robinson and Boo Radley. Tom Robinson is a innocent negro accused of raping Mayella Ewell towards the end of the book, we don't see much of Tom until he is accused of rape. She lives in the town of Maycomb Alabama, and lives an innocent life until about halfway through the story, where she begins to ask questions. In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Scout shows the readers that racial inequality creates an unjust society through the African American community, through the people surrounding colored folks, and through Tom Robinson’s Case.
