Walt Disney was born on December 5,1901. His birth name was Walter Elias Disney and he was born in Hermosa, Illinois. Walt was an American motion-picture and television producer. Him and his brother Roy co-founded Walt Disney Productions. Walt was a professional animator and he created the cartoon character Mickey Mouse. He won 22 academy awards in his lifetime. Then the Disney brothers and their wives produces three animated characters and one of them being Mickey Mouse. On December 21,1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was produced and it was the first full-length animated film. It produced $1.499 million. The movie won a total of eight oscar awards. Then in the next five years, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo and Bambi were produced. Disney was among the first to use television as an entertainment medium. Disney’s last major success that he produced was the motion picture Mary Poppins, it mixed live action and animation. Disney’s $17 million Disneyland theme park opened on July 17, 1955. For example, they are each on the opposite sides of the country, the biggest similarity is the fact that they both have the theme of Disney. The size is also a huge difference, Disneyworld is 43 square miles, and covers the four Disney parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s California Adventure, and is about twice the size of Manhattan, whereas Disneyland is only 500 acres and only covers Disneyland park, and Disney California adventure.
