Explained by Meryl Loonin, in the article “Weight and Health in America”, Loonin wrote, “Results of a national health survey covering the years 1999-2002 show that an astonishing 65 percent, or more than 125 million American adults, are either overweight or obese” (Loonin). Many of these supplements are in higher demand for athletes and younger adults but supplements of all kinds can be used for those of older age and even infants. Water plays an extremely big role in how supplements react within the body and since two-thirds of our body is made with water, it should always be an important role in what a person puts into their body. These supplements are not only helping people, but growing new businesses. These businesses, in return, are able to grow, create newer and improved supplements, and start building a better reputation as a company. Dietary, nutritional, and workout supplements are not bad for society as long as they are used the right way. Others just need to be educated on how these supplements are used and what they are used for. Supplements may enhance an individuals workout or they can be used to support another persons body. Water is a big factor in how the supplements interact with an individuals body and businesses.
