John Jay, he was not only a man of many accomplishments, he was one of the most
important and impactful men in the history of our beautiful country. Jay was one of the founding
fathers that really shaped the government of the 13 colonies uniting them into one nation. Jay
was one of the contributors to the Federalist Papers, which helped create the American
government. He was elected president of the wartime Continental Congress, then became the
secretary of foreign affairs. He also served as the first chief justice of the U.S. He then became
U.S. minister to Spain, helping the 1783 Treaty of Paris that ended the Revolutionary War and

different ways, his work was vital in the forming of the US government.
John Jay is a descendant of french protestant refugees who traveled to new york in order
to find a better life. John Jay was Born on December 12, 1745, to a wealthy family in New York,
“Born in New York City, on December 12, 1745, John Jay spent his childhood in nearby Rye,

Jay went to Columbia University and then practiced law. He later created a reputation in New
York for himself, “ Jay had established himself as a successful lawyer by the time that rifts with
Great Britain and calls for independence erupted in the colonies.”(Biography.com)Jay was later then elected to serve as delegate to the First and Second
Continental Congresses. These groups debated whether the Colonies should declare
independence from Britain. Jay represented New York at the Continental Congress in 1774. His
conservative ideas had him searching for a way to keep a good relationship with Great

Jay became president of the Congress, but soon took on his most important job and that was the job of a
Diplomat. Jay went to Spain in an attempt to get more support for American independence, the visit did not go so well. Jay then joined Benjamin Franklin in Paris, where they negotiated an end to the Revolutionary War with the Treaty of Paris in 1783.
John lived a long life in politics with many significant impacts on the government of
today. However, John did retire in 1801 and moved out to his inherited property
of nearly 750 acres. Just a few months after retiring, John’s wife died but he never remarried
instead he lived the rest of his life as a gentlemen and as a farmer until his own death in 1829.

The late 1800s to early 1900s was filled with new opportunities, new technology, thriving business and wealth. But underneath it all lied great amounts of corruption whether it was beknownst or unbeknownst to the public eye. Jay Gould was a cunning business man. Although he was tactical and did benefit the nations railroad system, many including myself viewed him as a true robber baron of the time period, due to his manipulations in stock. jay Gould had experience with a variety of businesses starting at a young age.
He was born in a log cabin near the town of Detroit. He was the son of a cavalryman under general Joseph Wheeler. John entered vanderbilt university at age 18,but only stayed there for one semester. He was the thirty-second vice-president of the united states. He was the most powerful man in congress when he chose to join franklin Delano.
John had a major impact on the world as he encouraged others. Hancock was made leader of Massachusetts delegate to the second continental congress. John was helping to organize protests. He wrote his name in bold handwriting on the Declaration of Independence.
He was one of five that represented the colony at the First Continental Congress in 1774. Then Congress decided to make the Continental Army in 1775, John Adams made the choice to nominate his friend George Washington as its commander-in-chief. Adams had a solution that said that the colonies should each legally have independent governments, and Congress approved his resolution in May 1776. After Adams gave the basic introduction to this new idea, it set the stage for the conventional passage of the Declaration of Independence.
John Edwards was an important figure in early American History. John, delivered several speeches to the American colonies. Many of the early settlers came to the new land seeking religious freedom one that was not afforded to them in England. Because the colonies were still under the rule of England, they continued to operate for the benefit of the crown.
John Hancock was born in Braintree (present-day Quincy), Massachusetts on January 23, 1737 and died in Boston on October 8, 1793. He was initially a merchant whose shipping business was greatly affected by the Intolerable Acts, propelling him into the Revolutionary cause. Once the Revolution had passed, Hancock became the First governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He was most famous for his large signature on the Declaration of Independence as well as being a statesman, Second President of the Continental Congress, and Authoritative voice of the Revolution. Hancock joined the Sons of Liberty so as to oppose British influence in the colonies.
John Adams one of seven founding fathers helped not only develop, but build what is now the United States of America. They all had a big part in making America, but John Adams might have had the biggest role. He had an easy life growing up, and was born into a farming family that had wealth, and had a name for themselves in their town. It might have been easy growing up but tougher task awaited him in the future and it wasn't going to be easy. I will be talking about John Adams life from being a 20-year-old Harvard graduate to being the President of the United States of America and probably have one of the French deaths that a president could ever have.

Rockefeller went down a tough road to becoming successful, he had a few but some very important occupations, and he rarely had mentors. John Davison Rockefeller had a tremendous hard time becoming successful. To start off,when he was a kid,”John’s father had left for a young canadian girl leaving him without a father”(John Davison Rockefeller).He had to do everything he accomplished without a father figure so it was hard for him being a kid.

In his era, he was one of the most well-known philanthropists who had also given most of his wealth to charities and foundations. Carnegie believed that those who are wealthy should distribute their riches to work towards amelioration of society and to reduce the gap between socioeconomic statuses, which he expressed in an article called “The Gospel of Wealth” in 1889. Andrew gained his fortune by investing in railroads and bridges in the 1860’s and then later became a bond salesman in which he worked to elevate American enterprise in European countries.
In the early beginning of building America mountain men discovered many different regions of the United States but one mountain man in particular made discoveries and saw the country in ways that no other mountain man had before. John Colter the mountain man contributed to building America by traveling across the United States with Lewis and Clark, learning the wilderness, and discover Yellowstone, Jackson Hole and leading the Missouri Fur Company to help develop the culture of America. In his earlier years of exploration, John Colter accompanied Lewis and Clark on two journeys across the continent (Wise, Legands of America). In fact, he was the Secretary of State for Benjamin Harrison, John Tyler, and Millard Fillmore. Daniel Webster was a great statesman, and because of this, he understood the strengths and weaknesses inherent in government. Daniel Webster was a great orator and had a lot of great speeches, but I will only tell about his speech at the Charleston Bar Dinner.
