As a student, I have strived for the highest achievements and to earn honorable merit in everything I do. Be it through the National Honors Society, pursuing the Honors Diploma, or maintaining honor roll every semester, I have been preparing to take the next step at the university level. To me, school isn’t just a place to learn about the the four core subjects. It is where you can learn about yourself, your peers, and the world around you. College is the time for people to step outside their comfort zone and participate in eye-opening debates, classes, and clubs. I intend to take classes that stray from my major to gain a different perspective on things from people who have different interests than myself. In order to be a well-rounded and
Why College? Why College? College is my life long-term goal not only it gives me the opportunity for me to learn new things it also challenges; College also expose me to many different professions in my nursing career. College is important to me because I will be the first in my family to gradated with an Associate of Science to become a Register Nurse, opening many doors in the professional field, help build the numbers of male nurses around the world, and also make my family proud. After college I won’t be receiving a piece of paper with my name on it’s going more than that it help me do become successful in life.
According to the Thomas Nelson website, 15.8 percent of students overall graduate from the four-year program. This is surprising to me because many students are not graduating within those four years. I attend Thomas Nelson now, and I want to continue to be successful in all my classes. Because a college education offers benefits, I will face my challenges, listen to expert advice, and develop some strategies for success.
College is Worth the Money Imagine being in kindergarten, walking through the classroom door feeling excited or anxious. It’s the start of an educational career, the spark of someone's dreams for the future. The ideal life plan for kids was to grow up and go to college, now as children or students get older and the costs of college are starting to become more of a reality, some of those kids who were once so invested with the thought of college start to worry about how high the cost is, so what all parents and students are asking, is it really worth it? Going to college is worth the money because it will help one find out what they really want to do in life , it will show them responsibility , and it will better their chances of getting a good,
Many times in life what we dream, what we want, does not happen the way we expect to happen. In order to attend a four-year university to get my bachelor’s degree I had to go through a series of situations that would teach me how to be a better student and a better person. Being an immigrant, and especially a teenager, is not easy and it was not easy to me at all. When I was in my junior year of high school, I only had one year living in the U.S. I was still trying to adapt to my new country, to my new life, to my new school; however, it was not as easy as it seems, although I was always an excellent and hardworking student back in my country, El Salvador, I was not succeeding the way I wanted to, especially in school. I feel that the transition
Being an immigrant from Mexico to the United States has opened many doors for me. Having the ability to attend college is one of those opportunities that I have had the privilege to take. Tommy Hilfiger once said “The road to success is not easy to navigate, but with hard work, drive and passion, it is possible to achieve a dream.” At this point in my life my dream that I wish to make reality is to attend and graduate from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
When I meet a new friend or someone on the street and start a conversation. They always ask "why are you going to college for". I always say that “college is the best option for me is because of three reasons it make a better person, more option, and I don’t want to live like my family. Fist of all going to college made me a better person by letting me choose my own path and see the out come, it teaches reasonability's. Second it open a whole new world for me.
I am so motivated to attend a four year college. I don’t want to make the same mistakes my mom made. She never completed her education and we have really struggled. She is still trying to get a degree one credit at a time at night. When my mom was young she didn’t get the opportunity to go to school.
The reason I want to attend the BEAR partnership 2018 summer program is because it’s a great opportunity for me to learn more about the university and how it will feel to study there, this chance means an opportunity to meet and communicate with others and MSU is the university I plan to attend! I want to attend Missouri State University because they have a wonderful, supportive partnership with my high school. At first I had not thought about Missouri State University as one of my colleges of choice until my superintendent, Dr. Spurgeon, told me last year about the connection MSU has with future teachers. He told me that if I want to become a teacher and graduate from Riverview Gardens High School and attend Missouri State University to become
There is a well-known saying that states: “if you love your job, you’ll never work a day in your life.” That is what I am seeking: a career doing what I love, and which makes a positive impact on the world. And I am still searching. So far, in the positions in which I have worked, I have been content, I have been good at what I did, but I have not found a job or position that I truly love and want to do for an entire career. I did not feel like I really belonged.
School is the place for learning and that is what we will do. If you take a huge general look your school there is a lot of different people who mesh into this community of people. That is so fascinating to me is seeing all of these people who are working together to get to the subject that they want. When you are going through school and even life you are going to meet a lot of people and they are going to impact your life in some way. If you are educated in the right way in high school you should be prepared for what is to come in college.
Going to college is a great experience, but no one ever really asks why people go to college. Some people go to college for cultural reasons, to make their parents proud. Others go for economic reasons to improve their family’s financial situation. And yet other go because they want to learn as much as they can. So lets look at some substantial reasons why people go to college.
Every day of people’s lives they are faced with many decisions. Some decisions are much easier than others like what television program they want to watch. Some decisions are even made for them by other decisions that they have already made like what to wear. Depending on the career an individual has chosen it will depend on what that individual will wear to work. Now some decisions are much more difficult than others.
I want to go to college because it is an amazing experience and opportunity that not everyone has the privilege of receiving. Before my freshman year of high school, my dad told me about how right before he graduated high school, his parents sat him down and told him that he could not go to college. They did not have the money, nor the resources. My dad had straight A's and worked a full time job throughout high school, and had saved enough money to take the ACT and apply for some schools. He ended up working his way through college, graduating Georgetown with a masters degree, and he now owns his own consulting company.
Special circumstances that affect your family’s ability to fund your college expenses. My parents have been in the habit of knowing how expensive college is with an older family member attending Texas Tech University and the understanding that in the long run he will end up with student loans. My goal is to leave with as minimum student debt from college as possible, with that say, I have had the privilege of attending a high school program that conjoins with a community college allowing me to graduate high school with my associate’s degree with no cost. If the employments economic downturn should result in layoffs for my parents, I would like to have no fear in attending college and being capable of paying tuition along with expenses.
A brief description of what I am/want to do after I graduate from high school. After I complete my high school years I want to continue and further my education by going off to school to become a Criminal Law Lawyer. As of right now I am not too sure where I want to go to school but I’m in the process of looking for some schools I would like to attend. My judgement is that I want to go to a junior college and when I’m finish there than transfer into a university.
