Chemistry of Electrolytes
There are chemical reactions all over the world, not only in chemistry. Some examples of popular chemical reactions in the world are photosynthesis, washing your hands with soap and water, hair coloring, oxidation, etc. Chemical reactions are also important in sports whether it be in the body or in many products used in the sports world. Many products in the sports world use chemical reactions. Electrolytes are important in the sports industry and in athletes' health. There is also an interesting history behind electrolytes.
Electrolytes are very important in the sports world. Electrolytes is the component in sports drinks and water that keep you hydrated before, during, and after a game. There are many different types of electrolytes according to Classifying Electrolytes, such as salts, strong and weak acids, and strong and weak bases. There are also many different types of electrolytes in those categories. For example, NaCl and KBr are both electrolytes that are salts. Another example is HF, which is a weak acid electrolyte.
There are many different chemical reactions in sports. Electrolytes are very important, but the most important chemical reaction in the sports world is

He first discovered in 1834 that electrolytes were not liquid, but solid. Previously, he believed that electrolytes were liquid within water, but later realized they are solid and can be put in water to keep people hydrated because the most popular electrolyte is table salt. Years later in 1861, James Clerk Maxwell built off of Faraday's ideas and formed many equations that were examples of electrolytes. If this reaction did not happen, then athletes all over the world would not be able to play sports or workout because it would be too dangerous. It would be dangerous because athletes' muscles would cramp and many athletes would pass out because of the lack of
A mixture of elements is what is known as compounds. Chemical reactions occur when particles react with each other and atoms in molecules get rearranged. Reactions happen either rapidly or slowly. The speed of a reaction is known as the rate of the reaction. This speed of chemical reaction depends on many factors such as temperature, particle size of reactants, and the intensity of reactants.
1831- Using his invention the induction ring, Michael Faraday proved that electricity can be induced (made) by changes in an electromagnetic field. Faraday’s experiments about how electric current works, led to the understanding of electrical transformers and motors. This experiment became Faraday’s Law, which became one of the Maxwell Equations (Administrator, 2007). 1890 - Heinrich Hertz (1857-1894) a German physicist, laid the ground work for the vacuum tube.
Franklin's inventions made many every day tasks of the colonial times a lot easier. Benjamin Franklin was the inventor of the lightning rod and he is well known for his experiments in electricity field. Using only a key, a kite, and a jar, Benjamin Franklin discovered how to conduct electricity. Franklin later constructed the lightning rod, a metal rod attached to the highest point of a building with a cable running it from the rod into the ground, safely conducting the electricity away from the building. No longer would houses and stores catch on fire due to lightning strikes during intense storms.
While Franklin did indeed discover some unknown aspects of electricity, he did not actually invent electricity. Before his discovery, electricity was around and it was used, it just was not used in the same ways we use it today. Some would use electricity for their magic tricks to create special effects such as sparks. Many people believed that electricity was a strange force and that lightning was a sign of God's wrath. For the most part, electricity was not very important to the people, that is with the exception of Benjamin
When he discovered this, he thought that, "The secrets if this earth are not for all men to see, but only for those who will seek them" (Rand 52). The things on the earth that man does not know will not just pop out, but rather man has to go look and learn for the unexplained things that roam the earth. Equality worked aimlessly to discover this new power, that was used in the Unmentionable Times called electricity, like the Dark Ages' candles. He thought that if the World Council saw this discovery suddenly they would become engrossed with Equality and move him into the House of Scholars, unfortunately his invention was rejected because nothing good came out of inventions if they were worked on individually and not my a group of
Sports drinks high in sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium can help retain fluids, and proper fluid balance contributes to optimal performance. Sodium is the most important electrolyte to monitor during exercise or play. High losses of sodium, typically through sweat, can lead to muscle cramps, which can lead to decreased performance and possibly more major health complications. Sodium losses in sweat are greater than any other electrolyte. Potassium, along with sodium helps prevent muscle cramps.
Franklin discovered that an excess of electrical fluid was a positive charge, and a shortage of electrical fluid led to a negative charge. He was also the first to say an electrical charge cannot be created, it can only be collected. In 1751 Franklin published a book called Experiments and Observations on Electricity. This book was widely read in Britain and Europe. ( Benjamin Franklin Bio)
C I also found in the text that it says “His Revolutionary idea was to conduct electricity safely into the ground to save buildings from fires.” E This quote shows me that Benjamin Franklin was the only one that one Revolutionary discovery. C The last citation that I had found from the article states “ The simple metal rod connected to a wire made Franklin famous throughout Europe and the
For example Gatorade is the original sports drink, uses healthier ingredients like sugar, and uses more potassium and sodium to help better supply athletes with Electrolytes. This is why Gatorade is better equipped to beat Powerade in the long
Franklin’s science experiments and inventions helped many people around the world with their everyday needs. In 1752, Benjamin Franklin set off with William Franklin to test his theory that lightning was really electricity with his kite and key (Dash, pgs. 81-83). Franklin’s theory turned out to be true and it helped many scientists learn about the nature of lightning.
A chemical reaction is when one or two (or more) substances react and combine into a different substance, and one of these chemical reactions is commonly known as “Elephant Toothpaste.” Elephant toothpaste is a foam created by pouring Potassium Iodide into a mixture
He discovered electricity in 1746. Now in the developed modern world we use electricity as part of living life. Franklin’s early life, his discovery of electricity, inventions changed the world and the way people think. Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston. He was the fifth son of a family of seventeen children.
Faraday then became really interested in science than ever before, but in the branch electricity. This shows how Faraday was able to pursue his dream even with his unfortunate
In this lab, students observed the reactivity with water of three Group I elements: Li, Na and K. These elements all had the same valence electron configuration. Because of this, the students predicted that they all will have similar reactions. When the lithium was placed in water it started bubbling and moving quickly across the surface while it dissolved. Sodium initially sank to the bottom and the bubbled back to the top before skirting across the top of the water before catching on fire and giving off sparks.
One of his most known inventions is electric light. The electric lighting a system of electric light to be used in many places where they work through the night or in homes. He started developing different types of electric light and power devices. Surprisingly was not the inventor of the first light bulb, but he was granted a patent for his improvement on the light bulb in 1879.Some of his
