First, and in my opinion the best the best reason, kids will get more sleep. I am pretty sure everyone loves sleep. Kids my age are supposed to be getting at least 8 hours of sleep at night but most kids are receiving less than 7 hours. This is due to staying up later for homework and other activities. It is proven that more sleep will improve focus and academic performance.
Sleeping Schools Countless students all over the US struggle to keep their eyes open throughout the day because school classes start too early in the morning. If we were able to give an hour to students in the morning, we would see an increase in their physical mentality, their academic skill level, and an overall happier lifestyle. Many people will argue that starting school too late in the morning will cause after school activities -- such as sports and other clubs -- no time to meet before the night ends. But I must mention that we don’t need to push the start time that much later to see a huge improvement on student’s test scores, overall grades, and a student’s mood. The current school start time is unacceptable when thought about logically, and we must make the changes to have school start at a later time.
Many kids that attend sports will miss classes so they can play sports. Kids could miss important work and classes to play sports. They could miss important tests. However kids will not get enough sleep if school starts early in the day.
If schools start later children will pay more attention in class, which will help them get better grades. Schools should start later in the day. First, schools should start later because many kids are not getting the recommended 8.5 to 9.5 hours of nightly rest. A poll performed by the National Sleep foundation discovered that nearly 6 in every 10 middle school students
Students need about ten hours of sleep; however, most students, especially teens, only get around seven hours of sleep. If school started later we would be able to sleep in longer which could increase our concentration in class. It will also improve your health if you get the right amount of sleep. Teenagers are in an important stage of their growth, which means that they should get all the sleep they need. We need at least 9-10 hours of sleep and it’s proven that only 15% of teenagers get the amount of sleep they need.
High school starts at 7:30 in the morning in most places. High school students typically get up an hour before or earlier in order to get ready for the day ahead. High schools should begin classes an hour later so that students may have more rest so they may be more aware and more likely to learn. If school began an hour later this would let students get more sleep, as they would more than likely continue to go to bed at the same time they do currently. “Research shows that teenagers’ body clocks are set to a schedule that is different from that of younger children or adults.
Everybody on this planet can agree that sleep is a beautiful thing. Whether your an adult, a baby, a younger, or an older child, it seems pretty clear that everyone of us can agree that we need more sleep throughout the week. Kids should have there schools start at a later time because that means more sleep! Although many of our bodies don't want to fully go to bed early, we still may want to have more time to sleep in the morning. Kids that have activities outside of or after school, get home late enough, along with sometimes loads of homework, and don't get to bed until an unnecessary late time.
Ahh, school, it s a great place where we learn about new things. Well some people don’t like school, so they just get through it to mess around after, but now schools are starting later so we can’t have fun after. That 's why we should keep the starting time the same. I claim that schools should start early because you 'll have more time for homework, have time for extracurricular activities, and the school doesn’t have to pay as much for buses. First of all, you have more time for homework after school.
Did you know that roughly half of your life will be spent sleeping? Without sleep, you can not think clearly, are unable to physically do things at peak efficiency. Teenagers can find it harder to get to bed, and harder to get up in the morning, because of the changing of their internal sleep clocks. What is worse is that school, homework, and other extra curricular activities can interfere with the sleep cycle. It has been suggested that high school classes start later and end later.
Research has shown that teenagers experience a change in their internal sleep clocks so that waking up early and going to sleep early are difficult. Some schools are deciding to begin later in the day and end later in the day to accommodate students’ natural sleep clocks. I believe that schools should begin and end later in the day. Schools should begin and end later in the day because students would be more alert in their class, students would be more interactive in class, and students would get better grades. First, students would be more alert in their classes.
In the video, “Should Students Start School Later in the Morning” by ABC Report it talks about why should school start earlier than it already is. In the infographic “Wake Up Call” by Sarah Mckibben it discusses that teens need 8.5 to 9.5 hours of sleep each night. This should absolutely be put into effect. In the article “ Should School Start Later” by Junior Scholastic, the times of school should start later because so students
Teens do not wake up so easily in the mornings. Their biological clocks have a time for them to wake up. In order for juveniles to learn more and be more attentive, they need the correct amount of hours to sleep in order for them to be awake and ready to start their day. Teens do extracurricular activities in the afternoon. By doing so, they would not have time to complete homework and get the hours of sleep they are required to get.
Have you ever been so tired that you couldn’t stay awake at school? You’re not the only one who feels that way. Thousands of kids have to get up early for school. People have done studies and an excess amount of kids have sleep deprivation. School times should be pushed back an hour or more so kids can get the proper sleep they need.
And it helps students ability to learn. One reason school times should start later is because it will help students catch up on sleep. “Sleep deprivation has become virtually epidemic among American teenagers. Research suggests that adolescents require about 8.5 to 9 hours of sleep, but according to the National Sleep Foundation, only 14% achieve this goal.” said Julie Peorgers from The Brown University Child and Adolescent Behavior Letter. Not acquiring the recommended amount of sleep can have repercussion of the human body and brain.
