Have you ever wondered what it’s like to get stared at everywhere you go? Well Auggie does. August Pullman is a young boy that was born with a deformed face. He also has Treacher-Collins Syndrome. August likes to go by the name Auggie. Auggie has never been to a public school. He has always been homeschooled by his mom. Auggies parents want him to finally go to a public school. Auggie doesn’t think it the best idea but he agreed with his mom and is going to to to a public school. Auggie will be a 5th grader at Beecher Prep school. I think Auggie’s school experience will be more positive. Auggie will be able to learn a lot more at Beecher Prep.

Auggie knew that would happen. When it was time for lunch, Auggie was very shocked because a girl named Summer sat with him at lunch. Auggie and Summer ended up becoming friends. Auggie and Jack became friends as well. Auggie has noticed that no one dares touch him or have any contact with him. One day at school, Auggie overhears Jack and Julian saying mean things about Auggie. Auggie went home saying he was “sick” and decides that he’s done with school. Then Auggie’s sister talks him into going back to school. Auggie forgives Jack when Jack apologizes.
On the other hand, Auggie’s school experience has some negative things. For example, one negative thing is that a lot of kids make fun of Auggie. On the last night of camp, Auggie and Jack head into the woods for a nature pee and have an ugly run-in with some mean seventh graders from another school.
