As I was reading the chapter, and judging every action by the most power countries I can say that the reason of outbreak of the war would be the ideology of the leaders and how they approached people, and put the same idea in their heads; and the other bold reason would be the economic factors or natural resources. World war two was a biggest mistake that happen by leads of the big nations even with having the experience from world war I, and the main character or person that played the main role in whole world war II would be Adolf Hitler. Because, he had the urge of reclaiming Germany's honor after world war I and once again make Germany The Great Germany. If we take a minute, and go back to the part that which idea and strategies started the first steps to the world war II would be Fascism and Communism, which historians have said that they were …show more content…
The Western countries put a condition on the iron scarp export to japan, that if Japan doesn’t evacuate his troops from China they wouldn’t sell it to Japan. Japan leaders decided that even if it comes to it, they would force the western countries to give them the natural sources. After couple of attacking strategies, Japanese commander Isoroku Yamamoto came up with an attack strategy on United State. Based on his plan, they would weaken down the navy army, and from there they would take the war in Pacific Ocean, and Roosevelt will accept their demands after facing defeat. On December seventh, 1941 Japan attacked unexpectedly on American Fleet, hundreds of sailors died. Yamamota was proud of his plan because he succeeded, but also worried. He was worried that United States would use their men power and other resources. After the second attack on Hawaiian Island Roosevelt went to congress and without any debate they declared war on Japanese
(25-1c, Spielvogel) Combine these two major factors with the governments thinking that a war would suppress internal strife and you have a the powerful mixture that caused World War
Although the wars were very similar the wars did have a difference, world war one was more wester v.s. world war 2 which was more global. In world war 1 the war was fought in europe and most of the countries that were involved in world war 1 were in europe. Most other countries just helped out. In a picture of the rhineland it shows that the war was fought with france, germany, United Kingdom, and Holland.(doc 5) While in world war 2 way more countries not located in europe joined the war. The document about the yalta conference it shows the countries that were involved with world war 2.
The Allied Nations of Great Britain and France is the reason why Hitler invaded Poland in 1939 and began the second world war. One of the major causes of World War II that could have been prevented was how unfair the Treaty of Versailles was to
One of the big reasons World war 2 happened was because the prime minister of Britain declared war against Germany. Even though the United states was not going to go to World War 2 they did after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Another one of the main reasons that World War 2 happened was that Adolf Hitler put the Jewish people into concentration camps. During this valiant battle the United States Military had a lot of young healthy men join to fight in World War 2 because they wanted to make sure that the germans and japanese did conquer the world by fight them off. They also joined because they wanted to prevent them from crossing the oceans and invading the United States.
17 million deaths was how WWI ended and the treaty of Versailles that came soon after that was supposed to help make peace helped start a secondary war. In Europe not long after WWI ended on November 11, 1918 the Versailles Treaty was being made with leaders from the countries involved in the war such as France, England, the US. But, Germany was deliberately excluded. This essay will address the question of how the Versailles Treaty helped cause World War II. The Treaty of Versailles helped cause World War II by treating Germany harshly.
Since Japan was a rising power they saw one country in the way from keeping their empire secure, the United States of America. Hence the attacked pearl harbor. Japan did this without thinking about the consequences that would later come. Unfortunately for Japan, the U.S. decided to end the war with two nuclear bombs, little boy, and fat man. These two bombs devastated Japan and caused them to surrender.
On Sunday, December 7, 1941, Japanese planes flew into the American Naval base, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii with a surprise attack that heavily damaged and destroyed planes and navy vessel as well as killed over 2,000 servicemen. This attack was a huge surprise for the commanders on base, but many historians do not believe it was much of a shock for President Roosevelt or other important individuals in Washington. Immediately after the attack, Japan declared war on the United States, which also meant that the United States would eventually go to war with Japans ally, Germany, which the President had wanted for many months prior to the attack. President Franklin Roosevelt had previous knowledge of the surprise attack, but withheld it from any generals,
Identification and evaluation of sources: Between 1930 and 1941, Japan sought to increase their power through imperialism; it caused threat to the United States when Japan started expanding to Manchuria and French Indochina. The United States tried to stop Japan, fearing from the threat that might happen, when America's president Franklin Roosevelt banned Japan from getting natural materials and supplies like Oil, rubber and rice. This action led to Japan to prepare for war. In July 1941, Japanese admiral Yamamoto suggested an attack on Pearl Harbor. The reason they selected Pearl Harbor because of their vision, they saw Pearl Harbor as an easy target like Manchuria, also the United States naval fleet was in Pearl Harbor,
Japan attacked the US at 8:00 a.m. on December 7, 1941 because of the embargo, fear of the US Navy expansion, and Japan wanting expansion made the Japanese people afraid of the US and caused them to react. Documents today state facts of why these are the reasons that mainly caused Japan to attack Hawaii. Pearl Harbor was a US Naval Base and was the closest and easiest way to get close to the the states. In the first day that Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor, more than 2,000 US soldiers and sailors had died and 1,000 were wounded. After the end of the first day President Franklin Roosevelt had talked to Congress and asked to declare war on Japan and 10 Naval Battleships had been sunk.
A couple hours before the Pearl Harbor attack, Japan landed in northern Malaya. Japan wanted to attack Malaya because it was a large producer of rubber and tin. This attack would also capture Singapore; Japan would use that land as a military base. The commander in charge of this attack was General Yamashita. His army was made up of 60,000 soldiers who all had war experience against China.
This was a risky move for the United States because Japan did buy a large amount of oil from them, Roosevelt didn’t want to lose a partner. (Document D) Japan wanted to prove that they had grown and had become stronger, the only way they thought to do that was to bomb Pearl Harbor, one of the most packed U.S. military bases in the country. The bombing showed dominance but also lit a fire in the American people to prove their strength and power. These acts had simply pushed Japan to the edge and they couldn’t take it anymore. They bombed Pearl Harbor almost in spite of the U.S. and their ability to grow out of the depression.
(Doc C) Because of the U.S military presence building in the Pacific, Japan was worried that the U.S could possibly use their forces to attack Japan in order to try to stop them. So, the Japanese believed it needed to cripple the U.S navy early on so they could continue to gain
Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor is by far one of America’s most remembered events in history. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese dropped bombs on the American base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This attack is what persuaded President Franklin Roosevelt to join World War 2 and fight on two fronts. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor for many reasons. They attacked because they believed they would create a New World Order, they felt threatened by America and because of the oil embargo.
Triggers and causes In World War I, the trigger was the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria in June 1914 and the causes were militarism, imperialism, nationalism and the alliance system. In World War II, the triggers and the causes were political and economic instability in Germany after the Treaty of Versailles. The harsh conditions of the Treaty of Versailles led to the rise of power of Hitler and his alliance with Italy and Japan to oppose the Soviet Union and the Allies.
Another cause of the World War II was that after World War I, the European nations wanted to maintain peace , but Hitler did not. Hitler became aggressive and started to take land from neighboring
