What evidence does the author use to support the feeling of hatred throughout the novel? Joseph Heller uses evidence such as characters being malicious who constantly threaten the people around them. “‘I hate that son of a bitch,’ Yossarian growled. The argument with Clevinger had begun a few minutes earlier when Yossarian had been unable to find a machine gun. It was a busy night. The bar was busy, the crap table was busy, the ping pong table was busy. The people Yossarian wanted to machine-gun were busy at the bar singing sentimental old favorites that nobody else ever tired of,” (Heller 19). This quote proves just how bitter Yossarian was. “Wisely and slow; they stumble that run fast.” (Romeo and Juliet, Act II, iii, 97). A famous quote spoken by Friar Lawrence in the play of Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, isn’t any ordinary quote. At their secret wedding, Friar Lawrence foreshadows Romeo and Juliet's future by stating that “These violent delights have violent ends.
While it is true that taking care of oneself and loved ones should be a top priority, the examples of "The Crucible" and "Good Night, and Good Luck" demonstrate the importance of striking a balance between personal well-being and standing up for important principles. In "The Crucible", the character Abigail Williams illustrates her character's desire to protect her reputation, even if it means falsely accusing innocent people of witchcraft and causing harm to many. Her statement "My name is good in the village! I will not have it said my name is soiled!" demonstrates her willingness to sacrifice the truth and the well-being of others to maintain her reputation.

In the book “ Johnny Tremain” written by Esther Forbes, the theme pride really stands out in the beginning of the book. In this book, it repeatedly shows pride as a bad thing. Pride is one of the few things in the world that isn’t just good or evil. Pride is only evil if you let it become more important than everything else. This is a quote by C.Lewis “ pride is a spiritual cancer: it eats up the very possibility of love, contentment, or even common sense,’”
In “Romeo and Juliet” a play written by William Shakespeare the characters show constant actions of impulsiveness throughout the story. The young Capulet regards the rules and her family with great precedence, “Madam [...] what is your will?” (1.3.7). Immediately upon being called by the nurse and her mom, Juliet asks her mom what she desires.

However, madness is not always “mental delusion” or “the eccentric behavior that arises from it” that we grew up believing it was.
