Need An Answer To A Reference Question?
Ask The IPL!

Ask an IPL Librarian

The Internet Public Library features a convenient service called Ask an IPL Librarian in which the IPL's dedicated online volunteer staff answers reference questions for visitors of the IPL.

THING OF THE WEEK

What are young people thinking...?

If only there was someone we could ask!

Wait a minute, we could give them a theme, a space to write, and the promise to post the moderately relevant responses.

And then...we'd still have no idea. But it'd be fun.

Sub-20 folks, go to our THING of the Week form on the IPL's Teenspaceand tell us what you think about this week's theme!

Update on "Rename the IPL" Contest

Over the past two weeks, we have received several hundred suggested names for the forthcoming merger between the Internet Public Library (IPL) and the Librarians' Internet Index (LII).

We were originally going to announce the new name on Monday, May 18, but due to the overwhelming number of responses, we need some more time to review all of the suggestions and determine the winner.

Please check back with us shortly!

What is the IPL?

The Internet Public Library is a public library for the world wide web.
Students from a consortium of colleges and universities with programs in information science develop and maintain the IPL!
Here are some of the partners in the IPL Consortium. A complete list is found on the IPL Consortium page.
