Pebble Chase

Number of Players: 5 or more
Place: Gymnasium or outdoors
Supplies: pebble, marble or stone

The leader has the pebble or stone in his hand. The children stand in a line and all hold out their hands with palms together. As the leader walks along the line, he pretends to drop the pebble into each player's hand. When he actually drops it into a child's hand, that player must run to a designated place (40 to 60 feet away) and back and return the pebble to the leader. The other players chase and try to catch the runner. The player who catches him before he returns to the leader will be the next leader. If the runner is not caught he will become the next leader.
