Eli Whitney was an inventor known for creating the Cotton Gin. The Cotton Gin is a machine for processing, picking and cleaning cotton and was created in 1793. The cotton gin made the process of cleaning cotton ten times faster than slaves picking it by hand. Eli Whitney was born December 8th, 1765 and passed away in january 8th, 1825. Whitney grew up on a farm in Westboro Massachusetts with his Mom, Dad, his sister, and his two brothers. The cotton gin is a simple machine used to quickly and easily separate cotton fibers from its seeds, making the process of picking cotton by hand faster.
