A student is failing two of his classes and gets kicked off the sports they were on. This student now has a low self-esteem and feels like there is no point to do her school work because she is already kicked out of her sport. She doesn’t feel like she needs to bring her grades up. The sport eligibility rule should be amended because it can lower a student’s self-esteem. The sport eligibility rule should be amended for various reasons. According to the Hebron Middle School handbook, “If students are struggling academically they should be spending time on their studies over any extracurricular activity.” Some students who have been kicked out of sports because of grades do not normally feel motivated to get their grades back up. According the University of Rochester, sports help students raise their self-esteem. They also are more motivated to do everyday tasks then someone who does not do sports. The student will also be made to study, or work on something for half of practice. If the player is allowed to still go to practices, he will be able to understand all the plays a team might have. The student is also working on his education if half of practice he brings something to work on in the class that the student is failing in. Some people at Webb City High School would be very angry to find out that they will no longer be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities due to their grades. The students who really want to play sports though would get into gear and get their grades up to prove that they deserve to play. What is a School without education? Pointless. Other people in the community believe that the “C rule” is not fair for the people who do not participate in any extracurricular activities because they will not be being punished.
High school sports play an important role in the United States. Many students participate in different sports in their high school and compete with different high schools for a championship. Kids around America engage in sports such as football, soccer, baseball, and other sports, and competitions in these sports are very serious. Some people argue that high school sports help the student in life, but many others argue that sports are too serious and could harm students. Some of the students reach their goals by playing sports in high school, and some of them experience difficulties.

I think that it should be a requirement to play sports because it helps with grades and it gets students involved in the school. I will be talking about how sports reduces the chance of athletes doing drugs and teen pregnancy rates going down. I also will be talking about what skills sports help build.
This is one of the retractors ideas that people in disagreement with these programs have. And they are right. Technically, sports are not an official subject in colleges. People think that collage sports compromise the rest of the students. One of the requirements of these sports programs is getting good grades during the course of their education.
Nowadays it’s very hard to find students who have never played a sport in their life, it seems like almost every student in America has been apart of a team sport at some point. Sports are very important to many teenagers. Playing a sport requires a kid to dedicate their time to bettering himself. If kids did not participate in a sport they would have to much free time on their hands, and start doing things they shouldn’t. Instead of running sprints, lifting weights, and preparing themselves for a long season they could be walking the streets, drinking, doing drugs, stealing, or just simply wasting their life away. To be eligible to play a sport a teenager must attend class and make good grades.
The students will have to work hard to play the sport and have good grades so they can play. Whether it is an intramural, recreational sport or intercollegiate competition, colleges and universities are known to have athletes attending the school to receive education. Student Athletes are the population of the school wherein they are part of the school’s varsity team and play in the intercollegiate competitions (Watt& Moore, 2003). They fulfill both the responsibilities of a student such as attending classes, completing classroom requirements, and taking examinations as well as an athlete such as attending training, acquiring injuries and facing public scrutiny (Carodine et al., 2003). Due to this common and unavoidable situation, the population of the student athletes frequently faces problems with their academic studies that also affect their academic performance (Carodine, Almond &Gratto, 2003; Watt & Moore, 2003). In addition the student athlete population also faces stereotyping from their peers and faculty teachers.
The opportunity to be apart of a team should not be taken away because someone wants sports to be banned due to the risk they hold. Also, not all students stray from their schoolwork. Most schools have rules saying athletes who are failing are not eligible. This is an incentive to do well. Most schools have study halls, homework can be done in the time given to them.
Kids have grown to love sports over the years but many parents worry about their children’s scholarship. In many argument essays, people state that the entertainment kids are so fond over can have an effect on students graduation. Therefore, school sports should be removed because exercise activities take away the chance of students doing their school work, they cost too much, and not having these athletics will mean kids won't be distracted anymore. Many parents think their kids spend too much time focusing on sports than they do with their work.
