Who is responsible for the death of Juliet Friar Laurence is to blame for the death of Juliet. Friar Laurence is the church leader in Verona. He is a friend and adviser to Romeo. He hopes by marrying Romeo and Juliet he will end the feuding. He also has a vast knowledge of plants and herbs.Though some readers might believe that Friar Laurence is innocent in the death of Juliet, it is clear that Friar Laurence is actually responsible for her death. 1 He gave Juliet the potion and this was his plan. 2 He never told Friar John how important delivering the letter to romeo was. 3 He went and married Romeo and Juliet. My first reason for believing that Friar Laurence is responsible for Juliet’s death is that this was his plan, and he was the one that gave Juliet the sleeping medicine. In act 4 scene 1 he comes up with a plan that he thinks that will not fail. If he didn’t acted so quickly he probably could have come up with a better plan. Also in act 4 scene 1 he says he will send a friar to Romeo, but the letter never got to him. Why? Well because Friar Laurence just gave him a letter saying take this to Rome, Friar John probably thought that it was just a normal letter and took his time. In other words, Friar Laurence failed to mention the importance of the letter, thus this ended in death. Furthermore, I also believe that Friar Laurence is guilty because, He went and married Romeo and Juliet in secret. In act 2 scene 6 is where he marries Juliet to Romeo. He knew that they just only met the night before.Even though his intentions were good he acted to hastily. He hoped by marrying the Romeo and Juliet he could end all the fighting. To put it bluntly, because the Friar acted too hastily both Juliet and her Romeo
