Description: January 22, 1998: The Nature Conservancy and the Lummi Indian Nation have purchased the 2,240-acre Arlecho Creek Forest in Whatcom County from Crown Pacific. The forest will be managed as a reserve for natural ecosystem, wildlife and Lummi traditional cultural values. Arlecho Creek has sigmificant cultural, archaeological and spiritual importance for the Lummi people, who for generations have visited the area for purposes such as renewal and healing.
