The Shawshank Redemption

The Shawshank Redemption is an American drama film released in 1994. Directed and written by Frank Darabont, the movie stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman as two inmates at a fictional prison named Shawshank State Penitentiary. It follows Andy Dufresne (Robbins), a banker who is convicted of murdering his wife and her lover and sentenced to life imprisonment for two consecutive life sentences with no possibility of parole. During his time in prison, he befriends Ellis "Red" Redding (Freeman), and together they struggle against injustice within the penal system.
