In the Philippines, there is this big divide between the rich and the poor. As the rich continue to get filthy rich, the poor get poorer, and the homeless is everywhere. While commercial areas hum smoothly with their pristine surroundings and cool air conditioning, the destitute lies in squalor, want, hunger and misery. This pathetic reality is not only magnified during elections. It is ubiquitous, like the summer heat wave that hits the country 90 percent of the time, unless there is a storm or typhoon.

So why are there so many poor people who get poorer?

Indeed, there are many reasons why the poor get poorer,but for purposes of simplifying, let us focus on one thing. The rich know how to get richer and they are actively and continuously engaged in activities that make them accumulate more wealth. On the other hand, the poor, who do not know how to make ends meet,are indebted up to future generations! They are averse to making money. Someone even told me it is bad to have a prosperity mindset because it was making people greedy!
