France was especially interested in trading with Native Americans, and also hoped to develop an entwined community. Unlike the Spaniards, the French didn’t treat the Native Americans as if they were inferior, and it wasn’t uncommon for them to marry Native American women. With that being said, it becomes easier to understand the characteristics and goals of the French opposed to the Spaniards. Early settlers of New America didn’t have it easy; every day settlers were faced with new obstacles and hardships to overcome. Since Jamestown was located so close to the Atlantic Ocean, and with so many people inhabiting that one area, it was a breeding ground for bacteria and disease.

Meskwaki Tribe The Meskwaki is a Native American tribe that is settled in region across the United States. Also know as the fox tribe they are Algonquian language speaking group that have settlements in modern day Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. The Meskwaki were one of five or six politically allied central Algonquin speaking peoples. They were named Foxes by the French, who first encounter them in the Great lakes region in the mid-1600s. Their migration to Wisconsin was related to the displacement of native peoples resulting from inter-tribal warfare in the Lower Great Lakes region.
Smith is the one that that creates a bond with Powhatan that was easy to see in Narratives of early Virginia, so when Smith was injured in an accident and had to return to England in 1609, the two groups started with conflict again. (Foner 59-61) The conflict didn 't stop until late 1644, but a great deal happened in those 43 years. The Uprising of 1622, left its toll on both Jamestown and the natives. When over a thousand Indians and colonists had been killed from these brutal outrages, a settlement of peace was signed into action between the two groups. The time of Manifest Destiny was a time of true American brotherhood and comradeship. With Andrew Jackson and James K. Polk being the leading presidents of the cause during this time, it not only led to continental expansion but homicide as well. While the Americans believed they were expanding into free land, Native Americans had already settled the land centuries earlier. This led to the dark side of Manifest Destiny. Native Americans were forced to pick up their homes and resettle in areas that were less than sufficient to meet their basic needs.

The case of Cherokee Nation V Georgia was a very important one. For a long time the Cherokee Nation lived in Georgia for hundreds of years. The Cherokee Nation has helped shape our country. When Hernando de Soto came to what is now the United States, he encountered at least three Cherokee Native American tribes. In the year of 1711, the English have given firearms to the Cherokees in exchange for their help in fighting the Tuscarora in the Tuscarora War.
Similarities and Differences between European colonists and American colonists In the past 500 years, there have been 2 major discoveries by colonists, the discovery of America, and the discovery of Hawaii. Both had Indigenous people, and the colonists of each place affected the locals and similar and different ways, and here are a few. When we discovered America in 1492, Indians greeted us friendly, and we repaid them by pillaging, plundering, and killing them, and yet, they were still kind to us. The Chickasaw Nation is a Native American tribe situated in Oklahoma. They were a part of the Five Civilized Tribes. Choctaw, Creek, Cherokee, and Seminole made up the rest of the Five Nations. The Chickasaw Indians initially lived in the southeast, residing in parts of Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky. Later on, they were forced to migrate to Oklahoma.
In 1830, just a year after taking office, Jackson pushed a new piece of legislation called the "Indian Removal Act" through both houses of Congress. It gave the president power to negotiate removal treaties with Indian tribes living east of the Mississippi. Under these treaties, the Indians were to give up their lands east of the Mississippi in exchange for lands to the west. Those wishing to remain in the east would become citizens of their home state. This act affected not only the southeastern nations, but many others further north.
