A) Describe the 3 SCIENTIFIC principles of sustainability and discuss effects of ecological footprints (1-1-2)
The three scientific principles of sustainability are solar energy, chemical cycling, and biodiversity.
Solar energy: as the sun warms the earth it is providing energy that the plants are using for nutrients or the chemicals that are necessary for their life processes along with those of most other organisms.
Chemical cycling: the circulation of chemicals that are necessary for life from the environment through organisms and back to the environment. Because the earth only has a select amount and cant replenish them with new.
Biodiversity: the variety of genes organisms and species and ecosystems in which the organisms live in and interact. The interactions among species like the feeding relationship are providing vital natural services.

Define matter and discuss matter change (2-1,-2) The nature of science are based on key principles and ideas which provide a description of science as a way of knowing as well as characteristics of scientific knowledge. It is also a human effort on how the physical world works by making observations and measurements and carrying out experiments.
Matter is a physical substance which occupies space and possesses rest mass especially as distinct from energy.
Matter is anything that takes up space and made up of tiny particles. It can come in different states such as solids, liquids, and gases. Matter uses different types of energy including heat which than can change matter. Matter can change states through freezing, melting, evaporation, and condensation. When the matter undergoes change there is no change in its chemical composition. When a chemical changes or a chemical reaction occurs there is change in the chemical composition with the substances involved. B) Define energy and discuss energy change. Explain what keeps organisms "alive"
