Several books have been banned because they are pro-communists. People don’t think that this topic should be allowed for their children to read in schools. But the champion among challenged or banned books is probably “Catcher in the Rye”: “obscene,” “blasphemous and undermines morality,” “centered around negative activity,” “anti-white,” “a filthy, filthy book” (What Are You Doing for Banned Books Week?). Catcher in the Rye has been banned multiple times just because of its’ profanity. It is considered a filthy book that consists of negative thoughts.
Banning guns fails to reduce violence because people will not have an effective means of self-defense, laws are ineffective and they do not solve the real issue, which is the user of the gun. One of the arguments put forward in favour of banning guns is that the number of guns
This is partially due to citizens being unaware of current statistics and conditions, as well as the fear of the government seizing guns acquired legally if certain bans are put into place. However, elections show that even among those against gun control, people do approve of some general regulations, like background checks and gun registration. Also, many approved of not allowing any past felons or anyone deemed mentally ill to own guns. No matter what the majority believes, however, the misuse of guns by unknowledgeable owners, not usually the guns themselves, endanger us. What many people do not understand is that gun control laws do not necessarily mean making guns illegal and banned from the possession of all citizens.
Many hate speech supporters argue that, “The first amendment remains the single most powerful instrument for protecting the sacred freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly and petition for modern Americans”(2) as stated in the article, “How First Amendment Rights Evolved”. Multiple people believe that taking away a law that has been critical to our society for so long would be a change that people could not handle. Our country has not experienced change in major laws very often so that is why many people do not want hate speech to be banned. However, our country needs change and not protecting hate speech is a change in the right direction for a better society. Perez proves, “If words can cause stress, and if stress can cause physical harm, then certain types of speech can be a form of violence” (Perez 2).
I do not believe the assessment accurately describes the Macbeths, even after taking their ferocious and ruthless behaviour into consideration. They are no more than extremely restricted, inadequate insults. He merely belittles Macbeth, associating him with mindless slaughter and peasantry, while failing to address his true wrongdoings and contemplative nature. Furthermore, the assessment ignores Lady Macbeth's development into a remorseful, saddened character towards the end of the play. Her evilness is only part of her complicated personality, which this assessment oversimplifies.
This would cause an outrage for all people who support their civil rights to create this form of art. “The fact is, there's simply no way to regulate the Internet with a scalpel. It's impossible, unless the answer is to bar all access to the Internet at large and replace it with a state-run intranet like Iran or North Korea. But lawmakers in the West increasingly seem to think that either they can, or more likely that citizens won't know or care enough to protest as the rights they'd expect IRL [in real life] disappear online.”(Mead) Written in Derek Mead’s article on Legal ban on internet Porn. Another negative to come from
On the other side of the debate, citizens argue that gun control laws threaten their constitutional right to own and bear firearms and don’t want to have tighter restrictions on guns. With so many deaths caused by guns, supporting gun control seems like a
They appear like a primitive spectacle to me. Perhaps in that is its delight and its horror. But I am a carnivore. I do not see that there is agreement between the sensible and moral persons if the bullfights should be prohibited or not. There is no universal consensus as in case of, for example, the human sacrifices or the sexual assault.
The media leads you to believe in these days that guns shoot you by themselves and they are some big scary killing machine that is uncontrollable. As a result of this, the left wants to ban guns and is not considering any other options.People should be shifting their attention to other things. The issue is not the guns, it is the people that are using them. I know from personal experience that guns do not commit crimes. I own 24 guns, and not a single one of them has ever shot me when I turn my back.
Vonnegut despises war, he believes that war has no purpose and the idea of glorifying it is nonsense. His belief on war is the factor for him writing Slaughterhouse-Five or The Children Crusade as an
